04.01.2022 It’s Week 1 into the testing phase of our M-CAST Project & researchers have confirmed that the room with the hemp (insulation) envelope is an average 3 C cooler in the daytime & 3 C warmer at night, when compared to the standard room, in the same building. Once we’ve assembled data spanning a few weeks, we can then establish the potential $ energy savings through changing daily weather conditions, over time. In addition to the noticeably improved acoustics, we’ve observe...d that our Hemp CAST system has increased the thermal mass whereby the structural (steel) frame is transferring the daytime heat to the hemp, then releasing this during the lower temperatures, at night. External temperature, humidity, wind speed, rainfall and CO2 levels are measured with bespoke detail and will support forward progress with technical fact.
