25.01.2022 This photo shows us smiling ear to ear. Why? This week we were fortunate enough to work with some of the most resilient, brightest young people we’ve ever had the privilege of meeting. HoMie has been impacting people’s lives since 2015, breaking the stigma associated with homelessness and those experiencing it rough on the streets and we were so thankful to be apart of this year's first Creative Academy.... We facilitated a hybrid of our Alignment Workshop to a group eager to learn. Our focus for the day was on personal branding coupled with job readiness. Developing strategies on how to put your best foot forward throughout the entire job search process, from application through to what to do post-interview whilst ensuring individuals feel empowered to make the right decisions that align with who they are. A huge thank-you to the team at HoMie for having us on-site, to Ryan and Callum from Creative Natives (https://creativenatives.com.au/) for partnering with HoMie to get this 4-week Creative Academy off the ground, Cherie from The Digital Picnic for being kind enough to put our names forward knowing we would support this initiative from our very core AND last (but certainly not least), the wonderful, talented participants who gave us their time

20.01.2022 What a year it has been! We recorded ‘Talking Business with Mirrored Horizons with The Jones Collective just over a year ago www.thejonescollective.com.au//episode-collective-conversa True to our practices, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on the past 12-months; 1. We continue to be extremely passionate about what we do through Mirrored Horizons (which you can hear in our voices throughout the episode). We’ve been working with small-medium sized business over the last 12 ...months to create working environments built on empowerment, clarity, and alignment. We have continually implemented our disruptive model and we’re proud of the impact it has had (and continues to have) on individuals, teams, and businesses alike. 2. Workplaces MUST grab the opportunity to invest in their people and the chance to take hold of their internal culture. Now more than ever before if employees aren’t feeling valued, aren’t connecting to the business’s purpose, and are unfulfilled, they are going to do one of two things; leave or even worse (and more than likely in the current climate), remain in their role and produce mediocre work that will affect more than just your business output. 3. We’re still unintentionally wearing leopard print to most of our meetings, it’s slowly become our Mirrored Horizons uniform! 4. No one really knew that on this day Jules was around 6 months pregnant with her third child, little Levi (#supermum!!) 5. We know that our reflective practices are so critical to continued growth. During this time riddled with uncertainty, it is easy to get caught up in the not good enough rhetoric but reflecting on how far we have come as individuals and as business professionals today has been (and is) important. We'd love to know, where were you and what were you doing this time last year?
20.01.2022 "As a result of our environments consistently changing/shifting without warning, we are listening and you are feeling burnt out, lacking motivation and experiencing negative self-talk. Please know, we are experiencing all these things too." https://www.linkedin.com//timely-reminder-you-need-read-/
17.01.2022 Leave your ego at the door! A statement Jules and Em gently reminded those who entered board meetings alongside them in their previous corporate lives. In toxic workplaces, inflated egos can often dominate the room and get in the way of having fruitful conversations for the benefit of the team/business. ... Through our team development workshops for businesses, we work to dismantle this unproductive way and move to create alignment with one another. Here’s a tip, when egos are beginning to take control, ask everyone to bring a photo of themselves as a child to the next meeting. Spend some time moving around the room talking to who that person in the photo was and what they wanted to be. This simple exercise can challenge people to acknowledge, we were all just children once, sharing the same innocence and longing to belong and thus the shift begins This photo? 5-year-old Emmaline who cried when people killed bees and desperately wanted to be a Vet when she grew up. Her compassion for animals grew to embrace all living beings and was only the beginning of embracing her empathetic nature.
16.01.2022 Now is the time to decide the legacy you will leave behind as you lead your team or business successfully out of a pandemic. The question to ask yourself is; will you create something that you and your employees are proud to be a part of? One of genuine connection, care, and empowerment that produces an engaged, productive, successful business for the future, or are you going to leave it all to chance? This blog explores the critical elements of building a successful employee... relations strategy that will underpin the sustainable success of your business well into the future. Mirrored Horizons have developed a cultural enhancement package to enable leaders who decide to take the opportunity to transition into a new way of working. 14.01.2022 Humbled and proud. Two feelings that we've carried with us over the last couple of weeks since our August workshop! On Saturday the 24th we held one of our Alignment Workshops. We had some wonderful people attend who truly embraced all that we delivered on the day. Thank you so much for all that you gave me at yesterday’s workshop. Today’s feelings are somewhat hard to describe, but perhaps content that I've finally gained some clarity on who I am a...nd my purpose. A sense of 'I am in the right place, this is where I need to be right now’. Naomi Goode, Executive Manager Communities, NGSC. It’s feedback like Naomi’s that makes it all SO worth it. 14.01.2022 We were recently asked, "how do you empower yourself and others to get the best out of everyone?" We thought we'd take to video to give you a brief example of some simple insights that will provide you with the foundations you need to unlock the potential in yourself and those around you. The reality is, it’s a very simple answer yet we continue to see it slip to the bottom of personal and businesses priority lists when in all actuality, it should be placed at the very top.... With the help of our Alignment Workshop, we walked one of our partners through how to embrace empowerment and demonstrated how a small modification can have a profound impact. How well do you know the team around you and what they are trying to achieve? https://www.mirroredhorizons.com.au//how-do-you-empower-yo
12.01.2022 We couldn’t be more excited to announce our support and participation in the Creative Academy! This new initiative has been designed to support young people impacted by homelessness and to nurture workforce opportunities for them in the future. Next week marks the launch of the Creative Academy, a partnership between Creative Natives and HoMie Clothing where agencies and specialists have joined forces to volunteer their time to provide their knowledge, skills, and insights to... foster confidence in tackling the workforce! A huge thank-you to Creative Natives and HoMie Clothing for getting the program off the ground! We look forward to working with the impressive lineup of professionals to make the program a success! Please feel free to share, like, or reach out to us if you’d like to find out more information!
08.01.2022 We want to know, what are three things that you will be high-fiving or raising a glass to over this Christmas period? It seems a foreign concept to be cheers-ing or celebrating this year but true to MH’s ethos, we’re looking at the silver lining in a year filled with extreme highs and lows. Our three?... Commitment. We’re proud of the way we’ve conducted ourselves this year. At the beginning of the year, we made a promise to our following and ourselves that this was our year to do more good and we have absolutely lived that commitment. This didn’t just mean in our business world but in our personal lives too. We committed to making better choices with our overall health in mind. We moved our bodies almost daily despite feeling all the lows of lockdown and committed to our health in an environment where so many things seemed to be out of our control. Connection. We have been fortunate to continue to fall into the right circles of people who have supported us throughout the year. We have put the strongest emphasis on nurturing our relationships in a year where people have felt disconnected and as a result, people have seen us, heard us, and supported us. We have always valued connection but we are SO beyond grateful to be able to be spending the end of the year hugging the people we love the most and in some cases who we have not seen all year! Challenges. We (along with so many) faced challenges but amongst it all, we were able to recognise and embrace the opportunity. It hasn’t been easy (we have shed more than a few tears) but we know with certainty that these challenges have further shaped us and how we will operate as a business in the future. With all this being said, we will absolutely be taking a well-deserved time out over the Christmas break to reflect, recharge and reset for 2021! We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to continuing to connect with everyone (IN PERSON) in the New Year when we are back at MH HQ on the 11th of January!

07.01.2022 We have admittedly had a social media hiatus this year for a myriad of reasons... Many attributes contributed to us taking a welcomed break from socials but two of which have been, we have been enjoying conducting face-to-face meetings with our clients again (until recently) and we have been working tirelessly in building Mirrored Horizons (in every way!) With this growth, it is our genuine pleasure to announce and welcome Melanie to our team as Alignment Consultant with Mirr...ored Horizons! Affectionately known to us as Mel, she has been a trooper and adapted seamlessly to a remote onboarding with MH this week amidst Victoria’s lockdown. With her studies in Human Resources Management and experience as a Senior Cabin Supervisor at Virgin, Mel brings her ability to naturally and authentically connect with people from all walks of life to the team. She is a conscientious individual who consistently demonstrates initiative and if we’re honest, from the moment we met her, we knew we would love to have her become a part of our team! We are excited to welcome Mel to the team and look forward to seeing her grow into her role and develop as a professional in our space!

02.01.2022 Throughout the year we have undoubtedly been faced with unrest, change, and unpredictability. These feelings coupled with so many elements that aren’t within our circle of influence is making people crave clarity now more than ever. Clarity, Empowerment, and alignment are at the core of Mirrored Horizons Alignment Workshop and we truly stand behind our facilitation that it is the perfect place to start if you are looking to empower yourself or your team after months of unrel...enting uncertainty. We were recently asked, How do you empower yourself and teams to get the best out of everyone? The reality is, it’s a very simple answer yet with the chaos that surrounds us at the moment, we are seeing it slip to the bottom of businesses priority lists when in all actuality, it should be placed at the very top. In an upcoming video, we will give you clear, practical examples of how we have walked one of our partners through embracing empowerment and talk about the impact this clarity had on management and the team. 02.01.2022 Things are changing. Every day. And we’re not just talking about in the business world. Everyone’s days have a level of unpredictability and we want to remind you (and whoever needs to see this) that focussing on what you can control is so important during these challenging times. In business we often work with teams that we find are focussing all their attention and efforts on areas that are out of their control.... By bringing their focus back to their circle of influence, we always find morale, productivity and empowerment begin to flow. This week, Melbourne is heading back into stage 3 lockdown and we’re focussing on the things that we can do daily to look after ourselves, our business, and the people around us. We want to remind everyone to stay safe and we’d like to encourage you to ask yourself, what will you focus on in your circle of influence this week? @thefabstory
