20.01.2022 People interpret the same information differently. Fact. A few days ago, we shared an image on our socials and asked people how they interpreted what they saw. The response? A myriad of different perceptions based on their own experiences and ideas that shape who they are. We run activities with businesses and teams to demonstrate how you can provide the same information, projects, or direction to a group and it will always be interpreted by everyone slightly differently ba...sed on their own set of values, experiences, and ways of learning. We enhance businesses and teams by designing their practices and processes to align with each individual. Ensuring businesses are built embracing all that each person brings with them is key! Give us a thumbs up if you would like to work in a business that embraces all you have to offer

18.01.2022 Have you ever felt overwhelmed and underwhelmed simultaneously? It is striving for perfection in all the roles we play and chasing ideals that aren’t fundamentally achievable because there is never an end to them. The expectations continue to change, shift and we continue to chase to keep up, we become overwhelmed. We’re underwhelmed at the same time because we’re chasing the wrong things. We haven’t stopped long enough to really understand where our attention and energy shou...ld be focussed to reap the rewards, we know are out there for us. It’s the combination of these two things that pull us in opposite directions and leave us fighting to gain clarity among the fog of feeling overwhelmed and underwhelmed. Our workshops at MirroredHorizons are designed to help you to gain control over this feeling and provide you with the tools to recognise when it is happening in your life and develop strategies to address areas you want to change/ turn it around.

17.01.2022 Humbled and proud. Two feelings that we've carried with us over the last couple of weeks since our August workshop! On Saturday the 24th we held one of our Alignment Workshops. We had some wonderful people attend who truly embraced all that we delivered on the day. Thank you so much for all that you gave me at yesterday’s workshop. Today’s feelings are somewhat hard to describe, but perhaps content that I've finally gained some clarity on who I am a...nd my purpose. A sense of 'I am in the right place, this is where I need to be right now’. Naomi Goode, Executive Manager Communities, NGSC. It’s feedback like Naomi’s that makes it all SO worth it. If you’d like to book into our next workshop, click the link and begin to invest in you! https://www.mirroredhorizons.com.au/bookings

15.01.2022 With restrictions in Victoria being put in place once again, we are reminding ourselves this Monday of what we have learnt from lockdown and what we will no longer take for granted. As some of us tentatively move into our ‘new normal’ we have found two things of importance to ensure we are keeping sane during these unpredictable times. Connection and choice. Two things that we have perhaps taken for granted before lockdown that we will make sure we are aware and grateful for... moving forward. What’s something you are grateful for this Monday?

08.01.2022 We create connections. Always. With no exceptions. We’re SO centred around creating long-lasting relationships and far less focussed about the transactions. That is always how we want to run our business. Whether we reach100 plus employees or stay as a small team, our sentiment on creating connections will always remain at the forefront of our business. Lately, In the background at MH we have been helping people with their job applications and developing some pretty impressive resumes (if we do say so ourselves) because we want to make a positive impact in the current job search climate and also, yep, you guessed it, connections!!

08.01.2022 Happy Birthday to one half of MirroredHorizons, Jules! You may be celebrating your birthday in isolation today but let’s take a moment to make sure you know just how special you are. You are generous, thoughtful, smart (beyond words), one of the best Mum’s to walk this planet, and to work alongside you is a god-damn blessing!... Thank-you oh fabulous woman for being so bright and sparkly-cheers to you on your special day!

08.01.2022 Things are changing. Every day. And we’re not just talking about in the business world. Everyone’s days have a level of unpredictability and we want to remind you (and whoever needs to see this) that focussing on what you can control is so important during these challenging times. In business we often work with teams that we find are focussing all their attention and efforts on areas that are out of their control.... By bringing their focus back to their circle of influence, we always find morale, productivity and empowerment begin to flow. This week, Melbourne is heading back into stage 3 lockdown and we’re focussing on the things that we can do daily to look after ourselves, our business, and the people around us. We want to remind everyone to stay safe and we’d like to encourage you to ask yourself, what will you focus on in your circle of influence this week? @thefabstory

08.01.2022 Throughout the year we have undoubtedly been faced with unrest, change, and unpredictability. These feelings coupled with so many elements that aren’t within our circle of influence is making people crave clarity now more than ever. Clarity, Empowerment, and alignment are at the core of Mirrored Horizons Alignment Workshop and we truly stand behind our facilitation that it is the perfect place to start if you are looking to empower yourself or your team after months of unrel...enting uncertainty. We were recently asked, How do you empower yourself and teams to get the best out of everyone? The reality is, it’s a very simple answer yet with the chaos that surrounds us at the moment, we are seeing it slip to the bottom of businesses priority lists when in all actuality, it should be placed at the very top. In an upcoming video, we will give you clear, practical examples of how we have walked one of our partners through embracing empowerment and talk about the impact this clarity had on management and the team. 06.01.2022 What a year it has been! We recorded ‘Talking Business with Mirrored Horizons with The Jones Collective just over a year ago www.thejonescollective.com.au//episode-collective-conversa True to our practices, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on the past 12-months; 1. We continue to be extremely passionate about what we do through Mirrored Horizons (which you can hear in our voices throughout the episode). We’ve been working with small-medium sized business over the last 12 ...months to create working environments built on empowerment, clarity, and alignment. We have continually implemented our disruptive model and we’re proud of the impact it has had (and continues to have) on individuals, teams, and businesses alike. 2. Workplaces MUST grab the opportunity to invest in their people and the chance to take hold of their internal culture. Now more than ever before if employees aren’t feeling valued, aren’t connecting to the business’s purpose, and are unfulfilled, they are going to do one of two things; leave or even worse (and more than likely in the current climate), remain in their role and produce mediocre work that will affect more than just your business output. 3. We’re still unintentionally wearing leopard print to most of our meetings, it’s slowly become our Mirrored Horizons uniform! 4. No one really knew that on this day Jules was around 6 months pregnant with her third child, little Levi (#supermum!!) 5. We know that our reflective practices are so critical to continued growth. During this time riddled with uncertainty, it is easy to get caught up in the not good enough rhetoric but reflecting on how far we have come as individuals and as business professionals today has been (and is) important. We'd love to know, where were you and what were you doing this time last year?

04.01.2022 We often get asked, what is an Alignment Consultant? In this video, we provide a short, clear explanation of who we are as Alignment Consultants at Mirrored Horizons. Mirrored Horizons is focussed on unlocking the potential inherent in the people who work within your business or organisation. Our models are designed with a people-first approach to increase alignment, provide clarity, and empower individuals to deliver on their commitments for the benefit of the business. We...’re not you’re every day ‘red tape’ wielding, bureaucratic HR consultants, why not reach out today to better understand how we can help your business through this challenging climate and beyond. https://www.mirroredhorizons.com.au//what-it-means-to-be-a

04.01.2022 We were recently asked, "how do you empower yourself and others to get the best out of everyone?" We thought we'd take to video to give you a brief example of some simple insights that will provide you with the foundations you need to unlock the potential in yourself and those around you. The reality is, it’s a very simple answer yet we continue to see it slip to the bottom of personal and businesses priority lists when in all actuality, it should be placed at the very top.... With the help of our Alignment Workshop, we walked one of our partners through how to embrace empowerment and demonstrated how a small modification can have a profound impact. How well do you know the team around you and what they are trying to achieve? https://www.mirroredhorizons.com.au//how-do-you-empower-yo

04.01.2022 A little Friday reminder You’re doing the best you know how to do. If you need some practical advice, hints, or tips on how to get the best out of yourself during this uncertain time, give us a yell and we’d be happy to send you some tools that we have been using during our days in isolation. Trying our best this week has meant we’ve been prioritising getting some fresh air each day and on our strolls among all the rainbows in driveways, and teddy’s in windows, we’ve also seen parents doing their absolute darndest to manage the work from home juggle! This supermum set up her workstation outside to make sure her little people got a dose of sunshine and exercise whilst she pumped out the emails! We want to take a moment to recognise EVERYONE who is doing the juggle. We’re cheering you on from a safe social distance!

04.01.2022 It's not right for us to dictate or comment on what POC need right now when they have clearly called for allies to stand up, listen, and be educated. We're standing with you. We're listening to you.... We're educating ourselves. Image credit- @stuffgracemade

04.01.2022 You may have noticed; we’ve been a little quiet recently. Aside from the obvious WFH juggles; the main reason we’ve been quiet? We’ve taken a look at ourselves in the mirror during this pandemic and thought hard about our strengths and weaknesses. Turns out, marketing and business development are not our strong points, and that’s ok. We’re not afraid of being honest, in fact, we learn best when we’re prepared to be vulnerable so we don’t mind telling everyone, our clients ...have been heavily based around word of mouth and referrals to date. Which is great, because we know that when people work with us, they tell people about us. But this isn’t a strategy that gives us a consistent pipeline of work. And our marketing efforts? We’ve tried to teach ourselves ways to gain traction along the way whilst navigating each social media platform the best we can. What are we doing now? We’re researching, brainstorming, and meeting with professionals that have BD and marketing prowess! Tomorrow we have a customised one on one session with some extremely talented digital marketing specialists and we’re excited by what’s to come. Woo learning! What’s something you’ve learnt about yourself whilst navigating through this one in one-hundred-year history-making pandemic?! #authenticleadership

02.01.2022 We couldn’t be more excited to announce our support and participation in the Creative Academy! This new initiative has been designed to support young people impacted by homelessness and to nurture workforce opportunities for them in the future. Next week marks the launch of the Creative Academy, a partnership between Creative Natives and HoMie Clothing where agencies and specialists have joined forces to volunteer their time to provide their knowledge, skills, and insights to... foster confidence in tackling the workforce! A huge thank-you to Creative Natives and HoMie Clothing for getting the program off the ground! We look forward to working with the impressive lineup of professionals to make the program a success! Please feel free to share, like, or reach out to us if you’d like to find out more information!

02.01.2022 Leave your ego at the door! A statement Jules and Em gently reminded those who entered board meetings alongside them in their previous corporate lives. In toxic workplaces, inflated egos can often dominate the room and get in the way of having fruitful conversations for the benefit of the team/business. ... Through our team development workshops for businesses, we work to dismantle this unproductive way and move to create alignment with one another. Here’s a tip, when egos are beginning to take control, ask everyone to bring a photo of themselves as a child to the next meeting. Spend some time moving around the room talking to who that person in the photo was and what they wanted to be. This simple exercise can challenge people to acknowledge, we were all just children once, sharing the same innocence and longing to belong and thus the shift begins This photo? 5-year-old Emmaline who cried when people killed bees and desperately wanted to be a Vet when she grew up. Her compassion for animals grew to embrace all living beings and was only the beginning of embracing her empathetic nature.
