23.01.2022 Providing access in a digester tank for weld-seam inspection and repair. Our methodology was to install single bays to a top deck height of 20m, each of which was linked every 2m. A single stairway bay was installed that provided ease of access to all levels. Our client confirmed that the ability to gain access to all required areas was excellent.... 20.01.2022 Employee appreciation. On behalf of the MI Scaffold team we would like to thank this legend Rick Walton for all his hard work, knowledge and contribution over the last 8 years. Rick has been with the organisation since its commencement in 2012, and has a wealth of experience from years in the marine, construction, materials handling and scaffold industries.... Over the last number of years Rick has been MI Scaffold’s Project Manager at the Hay Point Coal Terminal and overseen some of our larger and more technical scopes of work. This included one of our shutdowns last year which required 90 scaffolders and support staff and 700t of standing scaffold structures, with ongoing alterations and modifications over the course of a 16-week shutdown window. 12.01.2022 Not a bad result when you can minimise the risks on site and reduce your total hours considerably. Using Layher’s proprietary crane eyelet allowed our team to build the scaffolding on the ground and then lift the structure into place. Besides cutting the build time by over 50%, we were able to reduce working at height issues and dropped objects.... It was a great outcome for our client and our work crew. 07.01.2022 Do you have a maintenance or shut down project coming up? Can your contractor provide a scope of works that allows the scaffold to be built off site and then craned into position? If not, this could significantly increase their time on site which could negatively impact production at the mine.... With this project we were able to use Layher’s proprietary crane eyelet with spigot which is incredibly simple and efficient for critical works. Using this methodology enabled productivity at the mine to improve as the majority of the work was completed during the pre-work shutdown period. #scaffold #access #crane #layher
