22.01.2022 I am so happy that my Brown Sugar Nutties recipe made it into the latest edition of the Monday Morning Cooking Club cook book - "Now for Something Sweet" My friend sent me this photo this morning along with these comments "Couldn’t think of anything else better to have my cuppa with. Honestly I don’t like walnuts but these are yum - you have converted me! Matts eyeballs fell out when he took one bite!"

17.01.2022 With my new kids classes coming up in the holidays, it's great to see some of my mini chefs cooking solo for their family at home. The lock down was a great opportunity for them to practice their cooking skills. Great job guys (and I heard it was delicious too!) Get Stuffed will keep your min...i chefs filling and stuffing and chopping and cooking for 3 hours plus fun foodie games and challenges. 10.01.2022 Belissamo Banquet - Teens cooking class This class is designed for kids heading into high school or already in high school. These classes will be more advanced and hands on, with no games - just cooking! Helpful hints on knife skills and other important kitchen skills will also be discussed. This class, which will go for two and a half hours, is for those who love cooking Italian food. There's only 12 places so sign up now. www.mishsdishes.com.au/classes

08.01.2022 Everyone is complaining about the never ending snacking that's going on at the moment. I'm trying to keep healthy treats on hand for those snack a minute times!! We love these tahini, coconut bliss balls. Super healthy and super yummy! Here's the recipe...enjoy - Ingredients 1/2 cup tahini 3 tblsp maple syrup... 1 cup of desiccated coconut cup rolled oats 2 tblsp of your favourite toasted seeds or crushed nuts e.g. sunflower, almonds 1 tlbsp vanilla essence tsp salt A little extra coconut for rolling Method Combine ingredients in large bowl and mix well. Mixture should be firm yet malleable. Roll mixture into balls and roll into a bowl of desiccated coconut, then refrigerate for 30 mins and serve. I make mine quite small so get around 20 but if you make yours bigger you’ll get less! You can make a double quantity. They last well in the fridge or can even be frozen. See more

Jessica got all the questions correct from a recent Mishs Dishes zoom cooking class she participated in for the Twelve Batmi & Thirteen Barmi Programs - A Year of Giving session. Well done Jessica and I hope you do lots more cooking and baking at home.

02.01.2022 Please support the homeless at Youth Projects by donating as much or as little as you can....long life groceries like cereals, spreads, rice, pasta, muesli bars, long life milk, long life fruit and veg in cans, cans or sachets of soup, crackers etc Also, sanitary items for women and razors etc for men. Whatever you think might be useful. Of course if you have any warm winter clothes and shoes that you're finished with then that would be great too. I will be having another open porch this Sunday 28th. I'll be leaving boxes outside my front door (which is under cover) and you can drop off any time between 9am and 6pm. There's NO pressure and all deliveries will be anonymous. PM me for my address.
