25.01.2022 Last week was fun, but a bit scrappy as everyone adjusted to being back in class. Today it was like we’d never had a break, so much beautiful noise, so many smiles, so much fun. Love my job, love my students, my tapkids.

24.01.2022 Some feels from this mornings classes. My Kidtappers rock my world . I all of them; and I their energy, craziness, enthusiasm and talent. The end of the year gets very hectic because its not long til they show off their routines (December 8th ) but its a good kind of hectic and how could I not enjoy myself working with these fabulous human beings?

21.01.2022 Who is that Masked Person!? Oh it’s just me letting you know that [if you’re over the age of 12] masks need to be worn to class tonight and for the next week or so. Previous mask guidelines said masks could be removed during strenuous exercise: at time of posting i can’t find specific directives about this but will let you know asap. Meanwhile we have great social distancing in place and lots of fresh air and ventilation so let’s dance baby! Celebrate International Tap Dance Day with me!

19.01.2022 I lost another hour of teaching yesterday (this is the THIRD time thats happened, for 3 different reasons, see below) and these tech stuff-ups are now so commonplace that I just feel really calm about it, like oh yeah, *that* is the problem I have to deal with this week. No point crying over spilled milk as they say. I choose instead to focus on all the wonderful feedback my awesome students are sending me, full of support and encouragement, and, crucially, telling me that t...hese classes are something they look forward to and enjoy. I do have the worlds best students, I say this all the time because its true. And I miss seeing them in person like crazy. (I didnt notice my phones memory was full, so for 3 x 20 minute sessions I recorded, only 5 minutes of each were stored.. Previously, I lost a whole class in the transfer-to-computer process one week, and then last week didnt notice my phone charger was not switched on at the power-point so my phone battery died during recording. At least its never the same mistake twice, hey )

18.01.2022 So happy to be tapping IRL with people again! These gorgeous experienced beginner students joined me in the thoroughly disinfected tap hall tonight for a socially distant school holiday tap class SO MUCH FUN and so lovely to see everyone

18.01.2022 Hooray State Government has just announced further easing of restrictions which means dance classes will soon be on again!!! Yay! Were allowed to run indoor classes as of June 22nd, following social distancing and hygiene guidelines, but as that week is the final week of term, my classes will mostly wait until start of Term 3 to really launch. (Thats July 13th for those of you without school age children) Ive missed everyone so much! Classes for kids wont need restricted class sizes which makes life easier Adult classes will need a bit more finessing to fit in with restrictions but we will manage! Im also hoping to announce some school holiday classes soon.

14.01.2022 If you would like to be an awesome dancing queen like the Bette Midlers*, but youre a Beginner, then maybe youd like to try the Tuesday Morning 10:15am Nanna Tap class starting on Feb 4th. Its a gentle beginner level class, guaranteed to get you moving and grooving and learning the FUN-damentals of tap-dancing. You dont have to be a Nanna to join either, everyone is welcome. The class is suitable for people with bad memories, or maybe recovering from injury, or fitness-challenged or who just like to learn at a slow-and-steady pace. Heres a flashback to a mere 6 months ago when my adult students had their end of year celebration and we all were allowed to be at close quarters with each other. I miss them and all my kidtappers so much. Tap is the most fun when you dance with others.

So here you go. These (non-professional) students dancers did an amazing job and produced a room full of happy and that seems a good thing to share tonight.
