24.01.2022 It can be tricky with kids sometimes to know what they are really feeling, especially when it comes to pain. Hyperbole affects lots of children. It is however important to navigate through what true pain it is your child experiences. May is Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). EDS effects the whole body, learning to recognise this is important,

23.01.2022 "If you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be?" "If you feed your children with food earned from corruption, they will be corrupt. If you feed your children with food earned from honesty, they will be honest." (Dharamsala, India)

23.01.2022 "Some of the developmental neuroscience and attachment theory debunking the myth that babies can self-soothe. *PLEASE NOTE: this article is NOT about gentler mo...re gradual methods of "sleep training" that are sometimes necessary in our modern society where moms are exhausted and lack support, but about the more extreme forms of crying-it-out. The article also talks about the merits of co-sleeping to help both mom and baby rest." ~ The Refuge: Centre for Healing and Recovery, thanks for sharing this post. See more

18.01.2022 Very interesting read.

18.01.2022 October is dysautonomia awareness month. Too often dysautonomia is palmed off as anxiety. It is quite common in adolescent woman and woman under 50. You may experience some of the symptoms during pregnancy too. If you feel the diagnosis of anxiety doesn't fit you or child child's situation, listen to your gut and peruse the correct diagnosis as there are other conditions that can mimic anxiety including thyroid function, sometimes diabetes, chronic fatigue, pain and dysautonomia...just to name a few... You don't have to suffer in silence, there is support available. Feel free to contact me for more information. Have a great day!

14.01.2022 Interesting read. Intelligence is not necessarily measured through NAPLAN or any standardized methods. Learning to identify and build on your child's strengths and weaknesses can be crucial for their esteem and overall development. https://www.healthyway.com//signs-your-child-is-smarter-t/

08.01.2022 Teaching Consent is a crucial step in keeping our children safe. Encouraging your child to have autonomy over their body is a great protective measure to prevent harm and boost self confidence. I encourage you to teach your child strategies that encourage autonomy.

08.01.2022 Trigger warning. Teach your children that their voice matters and lead by example. "My body, my choice" - a phrase often echoed. Do you hear it? Do you respect it? ... Grooming and assault can start so young but it does not have to happen. It starts with recognising the signs and respecting when a person is uncomfortable. Please don't sit by and allow this to continue. This Christmas respect your children's wish not to hug someone or kiss someone. Respect their choice not to sit on someone's lap or be tickled. Empower them to use their voice. "My body, my choice." https://facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10214502638852097&id=1003909963

01.01.2022 Talking about sexual abuse with children can be tricky. Keeping conversations open with children and teaching them to keep their privates, private and teaching them to say no can prevent abuse. Using the talking PANTS can be useful to keep the conversation open. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-38129733
