22.01.2022 Playdough person made by a 2 year old after talking about body parts this is what she made. I was told that she is full and has a fat tummy.

21.01.2022 Playing with goop. Kids thoroughly enjoyed it. How we made Goop. We used 2 cups of cornflour, 1 cup of water, Two drops of food dye and a large container. Miss M 5yrs could not wait till she could put her hands in it while Miss M 1yrs screwed her face up and said yukky. Miss R 3yrs and Mr J 4yrs laughed. Miss M 5yrs said the cornflour felt soft but got hard to mix when added with water. We worked out when the consistency was right through feel in which Mr J 4yrs and Mis...s M 5yrs felt the Goop to check the consistency. We made blue first and put more drops of blue in which turned our hands blue when mixing it. Mr J 4yrs and Miss M 5yrs enjoyed it while Miss R 3yrs and Miss M 1yrs needed some encouragement in which they soon joined in on all the fun. We discussed the texture and feel like sticky, slimy, cold and powdery, soft gooey, runny and sticky. They enjoyed how it drips from her fingers and how hard is hard when pressure is applied. They loved running their fingers through the gloop and watching the effect it had. They laughed at each other as they played and Mr J 4yrs said oooh look at it as it dripped from their fingers. Miss R 3yrs kept washing her hands to get it off as it dripped off her hands and Miss M 1yr wide eyed stare said it all. They have asked to do it again in which we will do. This Activity covers all EYLF Outcomes as we supported each other while we did this activity. They all cleaned up and looked after the environment with Respect to ensuring they cleaned up and were careful not to Spill goop outside the container and helped clean up at the End. They looked after their health and of each other and used hygienic practices. All children were involved and communicated and shared the experience together as a group discussing and using the senses to experience the goop activity. Reasons for doing this activity were that Sensory play encourages children to manipulate and mould materials, building up their fine motor skills and coordination. It uses all 5 senses, Toddlers and children process information through their senses. They learn through exploring these. Self-esteem: sensory play offers kids the opportunity for self-expression because there is no right answer and children feel safe to change or experiment with what they are doing. Language development- experimenting with language and descriptive words. Develop social skills: practising negotiation skills, turn taking and sharing. Provides opportunities for working out problems and experimenting with solutions. Encourages Imagination and creative play, problem solving and experimenting with solutions in a safe environment. Evaluation All Children thoroughly enjoyed playing with goop. Extension of learning to make different types of sensory items like playdough, slime, and use different textured products.

12.01.2022 Tall spider children loved making these. Children loved learning about the insect world. Its funny how most childrens interest is focussed on the creepy crawly's of the insect world other that insects like beautiful butterflies.

06.01.2022 Love using boxes to make our dramatic play area's. Researched ideas for their castle talked about design and colour. Once painted they named the rooms that would be in a castle. They have used this area to play for weeks indoor and outdoor. They play. Princesses, Princes and animal kingdom as princesses ride donkey and are protected with dragons. They have played with Dolls and dressups, toy animals cars made masks to go with the castle. We collected leaves, dirt and Branches and made roads to lead up to castle. We even made a dragon out of boxes to protect the princess. We have made tunnels and next we are making a house out of boxes. The children love making the props and then play for hours with the props using thier imagination.
