19.01.2022 As a coach the message I want people to receive is that even with pain their body IS healthy. When someone has tight muscles, lower back pain, sore knees.. (I could keep going) their body is usually responding PERFECTLY to the stimulus it is receiving. I see that my job is not to ‘ fix’ that persons body but to help the individual to fix the stimulus their body is receiving. Paying attention to those sore knees or painful lower back and treating them as if they were the prov...erbial canary in a coal mine, a sign to do something. The body is communicating information about the environment around it and we do well to listen. Strengthening leverage points within the body provides a different stimulus to the body and in turn we receive a different message from it. A clear message that the body is strong and balanced. @marceauphotography

05.01.2022 It’s been a while! Here’s my 2020 update.. I’m an introvert at heart so IG doesn’t come naturally to me it’s something I have to get out of my comfort zone to do.... I’m Shan, owner and coach at MF STILL completing my final year of a bachelor of sport and exercise science at UC. Right now this means I am clocking up placement hours thanks to the awesome people at @accelerate_physiotherapy and @cavaliershowjumping To compliment my degree I am studying Neurolinguistic Programming & communication to improve my understanding of individuals, my coaching delivery and effectiveness. Why so much learning? Continuing to invest heavily in my education means that through my daily actions and decisions I can positively impact the community around me. My current goals To develop strong feet so I can run 7km without being made acutely aware of my muscular inadequacies in other words - pain free... In ‘barefoot’ shoe of course. 3x consecutive ring muscle ups Achieve a straight handstand which will be an indication of having improved my thoracic mobility and overhead stability.
