25.01.2022 UPDATE please donot park under the mango & lychee trees tomorrow when attending the pottery shed. There has been a large branch fall between pottery shed & the pool. They look unstable to me & i feel more brances will fall. Annie will be opening Monday & We are rescheduling Wednesday class to Thursdaythis week due to Dee cannot make it this Wednesday being the first day back at school for the little ones.

24.01.2022 Hi potters here is a little update. We will continue to update members when we know more from government officials. I know we all want to return to our creative groups though we must continue our duty of care for our volunteers & members. Happy home potting https://www.facebook.com/289987597806/posts/10157585257982807/

23.01.2022 Hi Potters, There seems to be confusion & questions about us re opening.I’m here to clarify a few things. We want to re open as soon as we can with the safety of our members, volunteers, our committee & the public. Our committee is working very hard behind the scenes to move forward in this new way of the world & ensuring we can open safely. Today we are meeting to ensure the best practice to move forward. We as a committee have a duty of care for anyone who enters the build...ing & under strict guidelines from Queensland health & our government. Due to many of our volunteers over the age of 60 & some with health conditions this puts them at risk & we have to be mindful of that. So any younger people that want to volunteer please let us know. On June 12th Stage 2 begins, this means we can have only 20 people at one time within the whole complex, with keeping social distances we can have very limited space for people keeping the safe distance of 1.5 meters, this is less than 5 people in each pod at one time. Due to Mission Arts been non for profit. We have to stay well within the legal requirements of the Queensland Government & Queensland health requirements. We understand everyone is frustrated & seeing the world slowly opening, though we need to make sure we have all the required work health & safety requirements that we must abide to from the Australian Government & Queensland health before opening the doors. Stage 3 July 10th allows us 100 patrons still keeping within the social distancing of 1.5. At any time if their is a spike in Covid 19 cases this could change & this is unpredictable times for any business or organisation. We thank you for your patients & understanding through this difficult time. Our committee has faced many challenges this years & we are thankful our president had the experience & knowledge to get us through this world wide pandemic. No one has ever dealt with anything like this & our committee are doing the best we know how under the current climate that constantly changing. We look forward to seeing you all again, when safe to do so. In the meantime Dee has been working on some new glazes for the pottery shed, some lovely modern bright colors, of greens, blue & neutral tones. Moving forward towards opening we now have 3 supervisors for open days when we can open.Hilary - once a fortnight, Hilary has expertise in wheel & coiling, Annie a new member - one day a week, Annie has expertise with wheel & Dee - one day a week, Dee expertise is hand building/ slab building & sculptures . We will keep you updated when we have more information to when we can open or offer alternative solutions.
