22.01.2022 Sr Maureen leaves this week for Jerusalem where she will study and reflect in a Sabbatical course on the Scriptures. The photo shows Sr Maureen celebrating a baptism in her ministry in Cunnamulla. She is Parish Leader in that beautiful town in western Queensland..

21.01.2022 Yesterday nine of us gathered to read and discuss Judy Cannato's book Radical Amazement tp deep our understanding of cosmic spirituality. St Francis had such a profound connectedness with creation as it was understood in his time. In our own time our knowledge of the unfolding of the universe and its ongoing expansion requires a new spirituality, one that has relationality as the centre.

17.01.2022 Camillus in recent years. A beautiful smile and kind word for everyone.

13.01.2022 Sr Maureen wrote about her Sabbatical in Israel: We went to visit the University which is conducted by the De La Salle Brothers. On this tour we were guided by two of the students and Demetri the student information officer. We watched a video on the university and I was moved by the story, in fact I began to cry. No one from the Gaza Strip is allowed to leave and study there. A Catholic young woman from there had commenced studies there but was sent back to Gaza. The U...nivsersity provided her with on-line education so that she was able to complete her degree. She was not permitted to come to Bethlehem and graduate so the staff went to Gaza organised a graduation ceremony. The young women who were our tour guides then answered questions from the group. Living in Bethlehem is like living in a cage and not a gilded one. I was impressed by the hope and intelligence of these young women who say this is not what we want and some day it will change. One was awarded a four month study in Korea and was amazed that she could move around the country at her whim a little taste of freedom. She longs for more!! See more

12.01.2022 Three sisters recently celebrated 50 years as professed religious women. Sr Patricia (left) spent many years nursing and engaged in nursing education in Papua New Guinea, Tchad in central Africa, and the Sudan. Sr Liz (centre) who served in Egypt and Italy is now the Italian chaplain in Sale Diocese in Victoria. Sr Francine who has a long service in education has completed a doctoral thesis on our founder. Her research is now published in the book "Elizabeth Hayes: Pioneer Franciscan Journalist."

09.01.2022 St Francis had a profound understanding of the interdependence of all creation. He spoke about the sun and stars, the animals and plants, water and wind as being his brothers and sisters. Srs Pauline and Cecilia greet sister Bunya Pine!

09.01.2022 A Sad day for us today as we farewell Sr Camillus who died two days ago. Camillus spent over three decades in Papua New Guinea - as nurse, midwife, and in Diocesan Administration. She was one of life's beautiful people - caring, gentle, and kind. She was a very spiritual person with a great desire for prayer and spent time in the hermitage in Aitape, PNG. Farewell Kamilo Lukim yu gen.

06.01.2022 For some years a small band of Canadianh Sisters became a part of the Australian Province because of their mission to Papua New Guinea. One Australian Sisters was missioned in Tchad in central Africa in a mission extablished by the Canadian Circle. We came to know the Sisters who served in Ladership roles on the General Council. We admired their dedication to teaching, aged care, pastoral ministry and outreach ministries. We have been grateful for their generous support of many mission and humanitarian projects across the world. While at times we have been separated by language and distance, it was wonderful for so many visiting Sisters to be present to celebrate the centenary of the Canadian Circle.

05.01.2022 Today we have an open day at Mt Alvernia College. The morning tea will be served in the historic Delamore house which served as the first classroom for the school in 1956.

05.01.2022 Recently when fifteen Sisters from across the world gathered Montreal, Canada for the inaugaural extended Extended General Circle Forum, one of the key discussions was sharing personnell for new mission outreach opportunities. We also reflected and prayed together within the context of the cosmic Christ and our deeper connectedness. The climax of the week was a celebration with the Sisters of the Canadian Circle who celebrated 100 years of presence in Canada.
