16.01.2022 When the bushfires destroyed homes on the Mid-North Coast earlier this year, some children lost their favourite books and toys. Twelve months after the devastating fires, many families are still living in temporary shelters. Our teams created ‘Bushfire Bush Packs’ for children in these areas. Each pack contains fun activities, picture books and an encouraging letter to help children remain positive. There are books about the bushfires including a story about a koala and h...er baby; how to be prepared for a bushfire and how children can find courage. We also found some fun activity sheets we thought the kids might like to take home and enjoy. said Bree, program manager.
