06.01.2022 As you all know that there are some disturbing images and videos coming out of Palestine as a result of Israeli occupying forces bombings into Gaza. Viewing these images often can cause severe emotional disturbances for one's mental health and wellbeing. Vicarious trauma occurs when we are repeatedly exposed to other people's trauma and their stories of traumatic events. The symptoms of vicarious trauma can manifest in the same way as Post-traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms:... flashbacks, memory loss, sleep disturbances, rumination, and loss of appetite. Also, experiencing lingering feelings of anger, rage and sadness about the ongoing situation of the Palestinian experience of living under occupation.
