10.01.2022 Announcing our first invited speaker Sally is an Associate Patent Attorney within the biotechnology team at Davies Collison Cave (DCC) where she is involved... in patent drafting, filing and prosecution. Before commencing at DCC, she completed her PhD at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. During the course of her studies, she identified a number of genes that may be targeted for the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer, using a combination of genetics, genomics and high-throughput functional RNAi screening. As part of her role at DCC, Sally combines her scientific training with her legal qualifications to assist clients in taking new scientific discoveries through to commercialisation. See more

09.01.2022 **Wanted: Postgraduate students to represent the University of Melbourne in Atlanta** In March 2019 the University sent a team of 6 postgraduate students from diverse academic backgrounds to Atlanta to compete in the Emory Wanted: Postgraduate students to represent the University of Melbourne in AtlantaGlobal Health Case Competition. Pitted against teams from 29 other universities, the Melbourne team won. The process to select the team to go to Atlanta in March 2020 is abou...t to begin. This is an exciting, enriching, and educational opportunity. As defined by the Sustainable Development Goals, global health goes way beyond medicine. It is determined by factors such as human rights (especially gender equality), food and water quality, education, communications, transport, economics, law and order, and the quality of government. We are looking for students who are passionate, articulate problem solvers who are up for a challenge and the chance to work in a talented and highly motivated team. The University will cover the team’s costs of travel to and accommodation in Atlanta. Our Emory team will be selected from among the participants in the University of Melbourne Global Health Case Competition, the final of which will be held on Monday October 14, 2019. In order to be eligible to enter the competition students will need to be still enrolled as a postgraduate degree at the University on March 31, 2020.
