21.01.2022 Can you hear that noise? It's my mate @chefheatherwong in LA doing a freakin happy dance, oh that other noise? JUST the whole Melbourne wedding industry doing one helluva happy dance because weddings are back on with 100 guests by the end of November. I took today off to spend with my fam (first time in weeks) which was so amazing, we have eaten good food and drunk wine and I'm sooo happy to see my fellow Melbourne wedding folk getting excited about the new restrictions released. WE ARE ABOUT TO GET VERY BUSY! And this picture? A LUSH cake from a stunning wedding yesterday xx

14.01.2022 What a year 2020. I feel like as we approach 2021 I want to tell you "All the things". All the things that went wrong this year, all the things that were good. The amazing way in which melbournians got around us, supported us and how others were so stressed out they said mean things and treated us like we were nothing. I second guessed myself, my aims, my resilience 10 x over.Then had to pick myself up for the business, my staff, my daughter. And this fight is no where near o...ver. It is amazing where you find energy when you feel like your running on Empty. I am so grateful for being so busy with our "pivots" and yet I am so sad that my family in nz are so far away. Thank you to every single person that was patient, those who are STILL patient while we take a break. Hire more staff. Get our feet back and thank you to every person that said "you've got this" Thank you to every one who bought a cake, coffee or cupcake. Here's to another year of fighting, baking and learning. X

13.01.2022 Vikki + Sam + Magic (the handsome choc lab) we loved making this for you! It is truly so wonderful to be seeing some of our rescheduled couples start having their weddings. And I can now tick "dog friendly cake" off my list after we made Magic a little carrot peanut butter number. I hope he devoured it!!! I 100% will not look like this when I decorate your cake unless I am lucky enough to attend your wedding and drink all your wine while dancing to KISS. 10.01.2022 We are officially closed for Christmas!!! Our store reopens on the 7th Jan. I cannot express enough gratitude to every single person who supported us this year. Every cupcake, coffee, cake sold kept us afloat in one of the hardest years in business. I have learnt so much about myself and how truly stubborn, persistent and determined one can be when loss is waved in front of you. Big love to my team of Ladybirds who have gone on this ride with me and helped keep things (and me...) from falling apart. I am so excited to have some time off with my family now. I'll be posting here and there on instagram but there will be a delay on emails. My phone is definitely going to be on "do not disturb". Be safe, enjoy your holidays and chat sooooon MLB X
