24.01.2022 A little over 9 months ago, we headed into lockdown and cafe life as we knew it changed forever. Words like pivot became part of the business vernacular and many businesses didn’t know if they’d survive COVID-19. One day in April, I heard a quote that struck a chord with me - The most dangerous phrase in our language is: we’ve always done it this way. So, instead of letting COVID-19 control us, we wrote our own destiny and started saying what if and why not? We rear...ranged, refocused, stuck together and worked some bloody long hours, ultimately resulting in Miss Nellie’s not only surviving, but THRIVING during 2020! We could not have done this without a great family, great team and YOU! We took a chance and created our Christmas Bakeshop and our lifesized Gingerbread House for the first time and had our most successful Christmas ever! As 2020 comes to a close, we feel so very fortunate and thankful for your loyal support, our healthy families and even though it has been one of the worst years in recent world history, it has actually been very prosperous and rewarding for our little engine that could. 23.01.2022 COVID-19 SAFETY We are currently NOT required to wear face masks or abide by restrictions applicable to Greater Sydney from Jan 4, however due to the large number of visitors to the Hastings region we will be tightening our COVID safety practices during the January school holidays. QR CODE - DON’T PANIC Whilst it is now mandatory to check in via the NSW Govt Check-in QR code you DO NOT have to have the Service NSW App on your phone. Recent improvements have been made an...d if you do not have the app on your phone you will be redirected to a webpage, whereby you can download the app OR check in via a web form. Likewise, if you do not have data or a mobile phone, WE CAN check you in via a Concierge page. There are no excuses - ALL members of your family or party MUST CHECK-IN. We are here to help you abide by the law, so don’t be shy - just ask! NB you will not be allowed to dine-in if you have not shown us the TAKEAWAY You are not required to check in, however after ordering you will be asked to proceed to our outdoor waiting area (under cover). TOILET FACILITIES Facilities are available for DINE-IN patrons only - access is restricted and a key must be requested from staff. Alternative facilities are available 100m down the road in the park, or next to the CWA Hall. ENTRY & EXIT Entry will be by the front door as normal, however exit will be via the side door and through the verandah (aviary). Seating in the aviary will not be available during this time. BOOK AHEAD Wherever possible, we suggest you phone us on 6559 0085 to book ahead. Our seating availability is limited and in high demand this time of year anyway - we will also be asking for contact details at the time of booking and your residential postcode.
