24.01.2022 **Miss Rodeo Australia Media Release** Due to the surrounding uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and in line with our international titleholders, the Miss Rodeo Australia committee has decided to extend the reign of Miss Rodeo Australia 2019 , Kate Taylor until the end of 2020. We will make an announcement regarding the holding of a 2021 competition in the coming months. As a national title, we want all young ladies from across our nation who are eligible to have an ...equal opportunity to compete for this prestigious honour, which due to border restrictions still in place at this time is not possible. The Miss Rodeo Australia Organisation is also in need of volunteers and we would like to hear from anyone interested in joining our committee to ensure the young women of our country continue to have the opportunity to represent our great sport, the western and rural lifestyle and last but not least, our great nation into the future. Our organisation is entirely run by volunteers who generously donate their time to the organising and running of Miss Rodeo Australia including the pageant and supporting Miss Rodeo Australia in her travels. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Miss Rodeo Australia committee.

19.01.2022 2020 PRO TOUR TEAM ROPING HEELING CHAMPION | Clay Bush is taking this title for the third time. And the young cowboy says ‘it’s still a nice feeling’. Thankful ...for his competition partner, Shane Kenny, and the continued support from his family, Clay acknowledges it takes plenty of support from good people to be able to compete and win. Busy in his farrier business, Clay has been making the most of the sport’s break, also setting-up a family property at Yass and working with some young horses. I haven’t really slowed down at all I’ve been breaking in some new horses and getting plenty done that’s for sure, he said. Whilst the break is an opportunity to freshen up for Clay, he like every cowboy, is missing his rodeo family and can’t wait to catch-up with the guys. Congratulations on your Pro Tour Champion Title Clay, thanks for your contribution to the sport and we look forward to seeing you back in action when the sport returns. #australianprorodeoassociation See more

18.01.2022 Queens, never underestimate your ability to change a young person’s life. Thank you Melissa for your beautiful words!

18.01.2022 2020 PRO TOUR SADDLE BRONC RIDING CHAMPION | Heath Chalmers is a first-time champ after finishing in the second and third spots in years gone by. In his second ...year back after an extended break, Heath is pleased with his title win and looks forward to ‘going hard again next year’. Whilst the sport of rodeo might be taking a break, not much has changed for Heath, admitting his alarm still goes off before 3am for his day to begin. I’m still up and heading to the track first-up, then home for a full day’s work and then maybe shoeing a few horses in my spare time, said Heath. The young family man doesn’t get much down-time, with two busy boys and a family business, Heath is always busy, but it doesn’t mean he isn’t missing the sport. I just love riding bucking horses, so I’m definitely missing that, and missing the wins and the money, he laughed. Congratulations on your Pro Tour Champion title Heath, and we look forward to seeing you compete when the sport returns. #australianprorodeoassociation Image BR Action Photography See more

It certainly wou...ld have made for an interesting year, said Bailey. With the sport of rodeo taking a break, Bailey is keeping himself busy with work and keeping fit in readiness for the return of competition. Bailey started out in rodeo is his younger years, and it’s been his life ever since, so right now he’s missing getting on the good bulls. 14.01.2022 It’s no secret, rural women are TOUGH. Below is an extract from an article I found on a the UN Women’s website: This year on International Day of Rural Wome...n (15 October), the spotlight is on the urgent need for Building rural women’s resilience in the wake of COVID-19, for building back better by strengthening rural women’s sustainable livelihoods and wellbeing. Rural women play a crucial role in agriculture, food security and nutrition, land and natural resource management, and rural enterprises. They have been at the front lines of responding to the pandemic even as their unpaid care and domestic work increased under lockdowns, mobility is restricted, supply chains are disrupted, and climate and conflict crises compound COVID-19 impacts. Rural women worldwide have always faced much tougher challenges in terms of isolation and lack of resources that are easily accessible in more urban areas. COVID-19 has added another challenge and another layer of isolation, that has made what is already a tough lifestyle, even tougher. As always, our rural women have stood up and faced each challenge this pandemic has thrown at them on top of the everyday challenges living and working rurally head on like they have since the dawn of time. So as a proud Rural woman, I ask you to take a moment and let’s be thankful for rural women and celebrate their unwavering faith and strength. 14.01.2022 Covid put a stop to all the rodeos, but it didn’t stop me doing my real job! Throughout my time as Miss Rodeo Australia, I have continued to work Full time as a Vet Nurse in our busy Mixed animal practice here in Cloncurry, Queensland. Most days this is what I look like - no make up, messy hair and tired eyes. ... Vet nurses wear a lot of different hats in their job and it’s definitely not all puppies and kittens and can be super stressful, but it’s is an extremely rewarding and challenging job. So, to all the Vet Nurses our there, HAPPY VET NURSES DAY! You are all absolute superstars and I admire and respect each and everyone of you for your passion and dedication to making sure animals and their owners get the very best care possible!

12.01.2022 I had the pleasure of attending the Mount Isa Mines Virtual Rodeo Viewing Party in Mount Isa last night with the 2019 Isa Rodeo Queen Aimee Sewell as well as the famous Chainsaw and Blondie! Whilst it definitely was not the same as being in the famous red dirt arena, we had a wonderful time watching on the Big screen and getting to know some of the wonderful sponsors who’s generosity in these trying times allowed this unique Rodeo to happen. Congratulations to all of the 20...20 Champions and to Natalie Flecker and the Isa Rodeo team who made this happen for fans and competitors alike. Make sure you stay tuned today for the drawing of the Art Union Raffle and see who gets to take home the big prize! 12.01.2022 2020 PRO TOUR STEER WRESTLING CHAMPION | Lee Kimber had a good start to the season to propel him into the top spot, but he is quick to thank those around him fo...r the part they played. Lucky to win the events Shane Kenny and I go to compete at, he never lets me down, said Lee. On a high after taking the title, Lee has embraced the break from rodeo, relishing the time he has been able to spend with his son and family. And of course, he has been keeping busy juggling the transport business and duties at home on the irrigation property. Lee is a cowboy at heart, admitting that despite enjoying the break, he’s ‘definitely missing bull-dogging a steer’. And right now, he’s looking forward to the sport’s return and hoping the break provides an opportunity for rodeo to welcome new competitors and committees to the sport in the future. Congratulations on your Pro Tour Champion title Lee, we hope to see you continuing to contribute to the sport of rodeo when it returns. #australinaprorodeoassociation Image BR Action Photography See more

10.01.2022 We are kicking off our trip down memory lane with former Miss Rodeo Australia title holders with the first Miss Rodeo Australia of the 21st Century, Caitlyn Teresa Mcphee. What year did you run for the title of Miss Rodeo Australia and what rodeo did you represent? I ran for Miss Rodeo Australia in 2010, It was the first Miss Rodeo Australia Quest for the APRA in 17 years. The rodeo I represented holds a very soft spot in my heart, I was Miss Rodeo Warragul 2010. Warragul ...Continue reading

10.01.2022 The BHFA are overwhelmed with the support that has been given to the first Bucking Horse Futurity in Australia, The Battle on the Bidgee Bucking Horse Futurity ...being held at Tumut Rodeo Grounds on the 21st of November 2020 has already got an estimated $20,000 payout in cash and prizes with support still coming in! 09.01.2022 2020 WARWICK RODEO & WARWICK GOLD CUP CAMPDRAFT CANCELLED BUCKED OFF & CRACKED OFF After extensive consultations with State and Local governments, stakeholder...s and public health authorities the Warwick Show and Rodeo Society have made the hard decision to cancel the 2020 Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft. With the ever changing climate surrounding Covid-19 the safety of our volunteers, competitors, patrons and the larger community were at the forefront of our decision making process. The complex nature of our event being seven days and the vast space of our venue made the logistical implementation of the Covid Plan unattainable. We understand that not only will the cancellation have a massive economic effect on our local community but that our event for many rural and regional competitors has been a reprieve from a tough few years battling through drought, fire and now Covid. In the coming months we will be working closely with our governing bodies to help keep our sports alive to keep our trusty team of volunteers engaged and to lift the community spirit. Please know this decision wasn’t made lightly, even when the equine flu hit in 2007 we still bucked our bulls, the last time on our records we had to cancel was in 1965 due to extreme drought and before that was World War II. We aim to be back in 2021 October 25th-31st bigger and better than ever.

08.01.2022 It’s hard to think that this time last year we were all in Warwick gearing up for our NFR! I wish more than anything that we were all in Warwick this week, but for now we’ll settle for the memories. I have so many I could share, but in all honesty, nothing beats being on the back of a great horse carrying our great flag in front of one of the greatest crowds I’ve had the honour to ride for and doing it with two of my greatest friends and sash sisters. None of this is possib...le without amazing competitors, committees, volunteers, sponsors and families behind us! But most importantly we wouldn’t be able to do this if it wasn’t for you, the fans and spectators of our sport that keep coming back, Rodeo after rodeo year after year to cheer on and support our competitors and committees. We love you all! So with that, let’s have some fun- What’s your favourite Australian Professional Rodeo Association - APRA National Finals Rodeo/ WarwickGold Cup and Rodeo Memory?? 02.01.2022 I am absolutely devastated for the Tumbarumba Rodeo team.
