Miss Spelts Grains & Goodies came together with Healesville Inter-Church Community Care Inc (HICCI) and the fabulous folks at Chachi Yarra Valley to provide delicious meals to 40 vulnerable members in our local community. We made a delicious organic soup from pumpkins picked from @rayners_orchard , organic ingredients from @missspeltsorganics and top it all off with amazing culinary experti...se from @chachi_yarravalley . As we all believe that caring for the earth is equally important, Chachi packed all the meals in environmentally conscious compostable packaging and Miss Spelts included a recycled toilet paper @whogivesacraptp roll with each meal to brighten up members day. Our religion teaches us to share the little we have, care for the most vulnerable in society and lift each other whenever possible. 16.01.2022 While strolling through the not-so-empty alleyways of Instagram we bumped into this and thought of reposting. Kudos to @thisthingtheycallrecovery Yes, this will be temporary for some.... But many have lived in isolation for years, and will continue to do so. Many have struggled for years to gain access to safe treatment or care, and will continue to do so. Many have been in battle with the benefits system for years, and will continue to do so. Many have struggled for a long time with the unknown nature of health and illness, and will continue to do so. Many have had their education, work and social lives impacted by their poor health, and will continue to do so. Many have been struggling to access safe and accessible accommodation for years, and will continue to do so. How some people are living right now is temporary for them, and if it helps their wellbeing to keep that in mind then Im genuinely glad. Please do keep reminding yourself of it. How you feel is valid, truly. I know this is rough and you absolutely have the right to express how youre feeling. But so do I. Please also keep in mind that this is not temporary for all. Some people have been living like this for decades. Some people will continue to live like this even after you return to normal - whatever that means anymore. If changes arent made. If our systems arent overhauled and our society altered, people will continue to live like this and it shouldnt be so difficult. Life is so hard for so many. Keep in mind everyone from all marginalised and oppressed groups that have been suffering unnecessarily all this time. This current crisis is highlighting issues that have always been there, and will always be there, unless change happens. It starts with you. Keep us in mind.

The last delivery day for Culina, Healthy Bake and Wuppertaler breads will be Monday the 21st of December and the orders should be in by 5pm 17th December 2020. Deliveries resume on Monday the 18th January. Ancient Grains Bakery last delivery day will be Tuesday the 22nd December 2020 and orders should be in by Thursday the 17th December 2020. Streets once filled with friendly faces are now empty, the smell of fine coffee has already faded into thin air and those smiles we had in abundance now hiding behind surgical masks. Yes it is a new world. In this new world, we decided to operate a bit differently until we find our way through this. ... As of Sunday the 5th of April we are changing our opening hours. Our new store hours as below. MONDAY TO FRIDAY 10AM - 5PM SATURDAY 9AM - 3PM SUNDAY CLOSED We have taken safety a lot seriously and for your and our staffs well-being, we asked you humbly to follow store directions carefully. 01. We have distance markers as shown in photos. Make sure you maintain your social distancing at all times. 02. We have hand sanitizer and hand gloves available for you to use at store 03. You are welcome to bring your own PPE (i.e. gloves, masks, hazmat suits etc.) 04. We have installed a screen for the safety of our staff 05. We take 100% contactless payments 06. We have prepackaged most of our bulk products so you can grab and go 07. We take phone orders when the time permits 08. Our online store is in operation apart from a few minor fixes (i.e. Bulk food and preorder milk and bread) -Official text hasnt gone out yet We just figured out that getting 4000 products online and organize logistics to make it all work is not a weeks job.
