09.01.2022 With the forecast weather, wind and fire danger tomorrow, now is a good time for us to politely ask cyclists to stay off Mount Dandenong and maybe go for a ride... down at St. Kilda or somewhere else instead tomorrow. Imagine this scenario, you’ve left early and cycled up the mountain, you’ve had a rest and a latte if that’s your thing. You set off back down the mountain and turn a corner to be confronted by a fire... Will you survive? A fire can potentially race from the bottom to the top of Mount Dandenong in minutes. No, that is not a typo, we really are talking minutes. Back to the scenario, these fires can move that fast that you’ve come around the corner, seen the fire and turned around. The fire has moved that quickly that it has cut off the road below you and now, above you.. You are now stuck on the road, in a bushfire, with nothing but a water bottle... Even if the road back up the mountain isn’t cutoff, you’re never going outrun a fast moving fire. On a bike. Up hill. With tired legs. Your chances of survival are minimal if you get caught out and you’re probably going to become a statistic. Please, with the weather and fire danger forecast, if you are going cycling tomorrow, for us, for the people that love you, please stay off the mountain. This also includes runners at the 1000 steps! #DontCycleMountDandenongTomorrow #PleaseAndThankYou #SurvivalIsYourResponsibility

06.01.2022 Just received some really lovely feedback. We are so happy to be a part of the Upwey community. We actually got our keys cut from Mr Fixit last weekend and he was so accommodating and great. We had spare keys cut from (a leading store) and they were terrible. He made a copy from those keys and they didn’t work well (our fault not his) so we went back and he made a proper copy from the original but also fixed the poor copies. He’s great. Worth a few extra bucks completely and it’s nice to support local business!

05.01.2022 Mister Fixit climbed up a ladder, Mister Fixit had a great fall. All the doctors and all the nurses put Mister Fixit together again ... but he will be resting so the shop will be closed on Wednesday and reopening 10am to 3pm until further notice.
