25.01.2022 OMG went for a drive to Paluma on the weekend. So cold (thermometers said 9 degrees) and all I could think about was curling up on a sofa with a hot milo. Only a quick trip this weekend to fix the telly but will be heading back for a night or 2 soon. Stay frosty Paluma

24.01.2022 Our fireplace has sustained some damage to one of the glass panels, albeit the house smells a bit smoky. We are in the process of fixing this and re-stocking the firewood. Use of the fireplace is not affected for those staying in the next couple of weeks.

07.01.2022 What do you have planned for the Australia Day long weekend. Why not spend it at Paluma, have a barbie, do some bush walking, swim at one of the many natural water holes. Sounds like a plan to me. Contact [email protected] to reserve your accommodation.

06.01.2022 Just a reminder that Paluma is a damp place.... all the time. We have dehumidifiers in the house & units that need to be turned on during our guests stay. Turn on when you arrive and let it run for a couple of hours and this should get any smell of dampness out of the air.

05.01.2022 Sound on. Zen place of happiness.

01.01.2022 PALUMA AND WALLAMAN FALLS GETS FUNDING INJECTION FOR 120KM WALKING AND MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDING TRAIL The Federal Government and Queensland Government have ann...ounced a $450,000 injection into the Paluma Range National Park and Wallaman Falls area eco-tourism proposal to start design work. The proposal would see a 120km + walking and mountain biking trail in the area, across three local government areas, including Townsville, Charters Towers and Hinchinbrook Shire. The planning phase is expected to take nine months, and could create more than 50 jobs during construction and over 110 when operational. State Minister for Tourism Kate Jones says the government will work closely with traditional owners to finalise the design, works and concepts. Given it is 120 km long, we have to work very closely not only with traditional owners but also to maintain heritage values of the site, Minister Jones said. One of the main reasons why we believe this is such an exciting opportunity is not only because of its amazing environmental values, everyone knows how beautiful Wallaman Falls is, but the cultural heritage story that is the history of this trial, she said. Over the next nine months, we will working very closely with the three traditional owner groups to make sure we get the design right and deliver it in partnership with the traditional owners. The funding will be granted from the joint Commonwealth-State $5 million Tourism Recovery Package under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements following the North Queensland Monsoon Trough.
