25.01.2022 This weekend Maydena Bike Park will be hosting a round of the MTBA Tier 1 National Cup XC race series. Entries are still open so if this is of interest don't delay getting your entry form in, they close 8pm Thursday. There's a host of new trails being opened to coincide with the event and the entry prices are super affordable. The race entry gives you a 3 day pass so it's absolute value for money - race day is Saturday. Be great to see you all there, and please share with as many people as possible.

24.01.2022 I'd say our riders / racers here in Tassie would echo everything in this review. The new Textra PLUS version due on Aus from March will be even better again.

24.01.2022 Mitas not only produce cycling tyres, they have a long tradition of manufacturing motorcycle tyres along with an Agricultural and Industrial as tyres well.

20.01.2022 Mitas Tyres Australia and Tasmania would like to officially welcome Dan de Groot to the Mitas family. Dan is a very well accomplished, dedicated and talented Mountain Biker and we're very excited to be working alongside him. Dan has a very proffessional approach to his riding and training and we wish him all the best in the up and coming races.

18.01.2022 Mitas Tyres Australia and Mitas Tyres Tasmania are super excited to announce that a very talented young rider is joining the Mitas Tyres team. A great big welcome goes to Launceston lady, Izzy Flint. Izzy has recently been selecting the Mitas products for her riding and racing and has been very happy with them. So much so, when we asked Iz if she'd like to become a brand ambassador and join the Mitas family she had no hesitation in saying yes. Izzy is one of the top talents e...merging through the national MTB ranks so we're really pleased to have her support and assist her as she moves forward in cross county and gravity enduro. Here's some of Izzy's achievements in her career so far. - 2017 Gravity Enduro National Champion, under 17 - 2018 EWS Continental under 21 round winner - 2018 Silver Medallist XCO National Championships, under 17 - 2018 2 x round winner XCO National Series, under 17 - 5 x Tas XCO State Champion (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) Congratulation Izzy on some fantastic results. On behalf of all the Mitas crew, thank you Izzy for your trust and support, we look forward to working alongside you now and into the future.

18.01.2022 This bloke needs no introduction, very fast, very fit and an all round top fella and dedicated cyclist. Welcome Kaine to the Mitas family. We are extremely pleased to be working alongside you for 2019 and beyond. Your extensive testing and positive feedback has been well received and we look forward to seeing what the future holds as we continue to expand the Mitas brand.

18.01.2022 Mitas Cycling Tasmania is excited to working with these two lads. Both need no introduction, certainly well known around Tassie and are extremely fast DH / Enduro racers. Launceston's Andy Butler and Hobart's Tom Booth are both in action this weekend at the last round of the Tasmanian DH Championships at Tolosa MTB Park. Come along and support the boys and enjoy some great action as the park offers some excellent viewing opportunities

12.01.2022 Some new updates for 2019 are arriving into Tassie this week. Below is some info I've shared from Bike Rumor. I'll add in images as required. 2019 Mitas Scylla XC mountain tires in wider size Mitas ‘the largest European manufacturer of bicycle tires & tubes’ has a few new wider tubeless tires on offer as well. Plus they have extended their lightweight puncture protection tech across two different disciplines.... Their popular fast rolling Scylla XC mountain bike tire is the first to get sized up for more technical trail riding. Still using a lightweight, supple tubeless Supra construction, the new Scylla TD will now come in a large volume 29 x 2.45 tire (780g) with the same Textra bead & sidewall protection developed for racing the Cape Epic. 2019 Mitas Kratos & Highlander enduro tires, new Textra+ protection Then, Mitas’ Kratos & Highlander enduro tires all get a new extended Textra+ protection layer that dramatically increases puncture & anti-pinch flat protection while retaining a flexible casing. The new Textra+ just extends the same durable rubberized high-density polymer reinforcement fabric from bead-to-bead (then doubled up over the bead) for extra flat protection for aggressive trail riding. The new aggressive tread dual compound enduro tires comes in 27.5 or 29 x 2.45 versions. The Highlander only in DH casings (1180g 29, 1120g 27.5), and the Kratos in a DH casing option (1120g 27.5) and lighter more all-round Supra casings (880g 29, 830g 27.5). 2019 Mitas X-Road gravel tires in wider size The all-rounder X-Road gravel tire now also in 38c wide version with Mitas’ tubeless Supra performance casing, a CRX Light tread compound, and a new lightweight Weltex+ protection layer offering reinforced rim protection against pinch flats and rock strikes. Weltex+ is essentially just the same new bead-to-bead mountain bike Textra+ repurposed for a lighter application, and not coming up as high on the sidewall. The new, bigger gravel tire weighs in at 455g in 700x38mm (vs. 330g for the carryover 70033 that doesn’t get bead-to-bead protection). 2019 Mitas E-Protec e-bike casings Mitas has also added a few mountain bike tires with a E-Protec casing option that sues a wire bead, plus a heavy puncture protection belt under the tread to handle the rougher life of an e-bike tire. 11.01.2022 If you ever wondered where some of the Mitas MTB tyre names come from well I have the answer. 'SCYLLA' is from Greek Mythology and refers to legendary monster and 'KRATOS' also from Greek Mythology is god of war

11.01.2022 The new 29 x 2.45 Scylla is now here. Here's what Tassie's own Kaine Cannan had to say after the first test. 'Super fast rolling and awesome under brakes. The 2.45 gives you a really nice tyre profile which ultimately gives you more grip, with a bigger footprint on the trail. Sidewalls feel very compliant also, still allowing the tyre to move from side to side but still gives the confidence that you won't blow it off the rim in turns. They feel alive, very impressive'. Kaine has been riding on them now for a couple of weeks. A quick message from him over the weekend read. 'Man these 2.45 tyres are so good' Thanks Kaine for updates.

10.01.2022 The new 700 x 38 now in stock

09.01.2022 Moto is where it all started many many years ago

03.01.2022 Mitas Tyres Australia have been working with Brooke Lendvay for a while now but we haven't officially welcomed her. Sorry Brooke, that has now been addressed! Welcome to the Mitas family...we love having you onboard. Brooke's background is moto trials based which is a great way to learn balance and handling in technical situations. She has certainly hit the tracks running with some fantastic r...ace wins since then including becoming the 2019 MTBA National XCO Masters 1/2 champion.
