12.01.2022 Tis the season to be jolly. Great to see The Mitcham Old boys catching up for a drink before Christmas and out of lock down at the Rising Sun in Richmond this week. Most are regulars at Mitcham Games but a football free season due to COVID had the old boys suffering separation pains. The good news is footy season should be back next year and hopefully a rescheduled 40-year reunion of the 1979 / 80 / 81 senior premiership teams in our new digs

10.01.2022 It is with great regret that we inform our members and supporters that we lost one of our loyal and long time members and dedicated volunteers Louise Palmer earlier today. Louise passed away suddenly at her home this afternoon due to heart failure at the age of 60. Louise and her husband Greg have been part of our football community since the early days of my presidency and have always been great servants of the club. Those of you who have booked our corporate box or had a b...eer under the scoreboard would have had the pleasure of their company. From my point of view these two were part of the furniture. Louise in particular was dedicated to making our corporate box or Tiger’s Den an experience you would not forget....and was famous for living up to it. It was fitting that the last time Louise attended a club function she was awarded club person of the year with her husband Greg. It was a well deserved award for two amazing servants of our club. I spoke with Greg tonight and he is overwhelmed with the support from our football community. As a club we will wrap our arms around Greg and the family through what is a devastating time for all of them. RIP Louise, you will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by us all. 02.01.2022 The Mitcham Football Club are extremely excited to have secured the signature of young gun Josh May for season 2021. At the age of 19, Josh is a versatile back / forward and at 198cm is extremely mobile around the ground. Josh represented Oakleigh Chargers during his NAB League career and was Vice Captain in their 2019 premiership year. Josh was then signed to VFL side Port Melbourne for 2020 and after missing out due to Covid has received another contract under coach Gary Ay...res for 2021. Mitcham President Matt McCubbin said "We are over the moon to get young Josh on board for 2021 and to have Mitcham as his home club. Josh is a ripper young man and is one of the most committed blokes we have come across when it comes to improving his footy and playing at the highest level.
