Building your own business requires a lot of hard work and sacrifice and there is no one I know who puts in more than you do to make your business successful. ... 14.01.2022 Last week was crazy busy at Supply Nation Connect 2018, but I'm just getting started. Muru Office Supplies has had our busiest start to the year ever and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. I'm off to Brisbane for a mini conference over the next two days and then heading directly to Perth for a night to give a presentation on a tender we have been short-listed for.... It'll be a busy week, but there is literally no better time to be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in business! But it's not all Gala Dinners and Contracts! It took me 3 years before signing a contract with a large corporation, most of that time and for a year or so after I worked part-time doing IT contracting work after hours or on weekend's to pay the bills. It takes time to establish a reputation and build trust, it doesn't happen overnight, but you also have to start somewhere. I didn't have much to attract clients when I first started, but made it my key mission to gain the capability required to service the big end of town. Now my company is at that point and opportunities are starting to present themselves. If you are just starting out on your journey, stay positive. There will be hard times, times you'll want to give up! Just stay positive and think long-term, it's a marathon, not a sprint! Hit me up if your starting out in business and want some advice. P.S. I'll be hiring a junior sales manager in a few months time, if you know any superstars, let me know! Whomever we employ will play a vital role in our future growth.

07.01.2022 Check this new article I wrote about the benefits of Supply Chain Consolidation. It's something larger organisations are becoming better and better at these days. Hopefully, this gives you some insight into what corporate and government buyers are hoping to achieve when going to market. ... This approach works against small suppliers and is unfortunately, where most Indigenous companies often fit.
