22.01.2022 Fun fact: the Sundews are carnivorous plants. The sticky substance on a sundew's leaves helps it lure and trap insects for food. Pictured here is a Drosera aberrans (scented sundew). This November we want you to treat yourself to a daily dose of the great outdoors by making a #NaturePact with the People and Parks Foundation. Dedicate 30 minutes a day, get back in touch with nature, and make a pact: https://bit.ly/38DAGuP #MitchellShire #DiscoverMitchell #VisitVictoria #Stay...Safe #NaturePact #GOSeymour : Alison Pouloit

Please follow the rules at the gate and enjoy this fantastic new facility, the first Council-run dog par...k in Mitchell Shire. The dog park was funded thanks to a $30,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s Building Works package. We would also like to extend our thanks to Department of Environment Land Water and Planning, Kilmore Racing Club Inc and Kilmore Racecourse Trust for their support to make the project possible.

13.01.2022 There's a park in Wallara Waters that we're proposing to name "Murrack Park", however we want your input before we go ahead with the change. 'Murrack' (the pronunciation rhymes with ‘barrack’) has some strong ties to the area - it means grasshopper in Woiwurrung language, the language of the Woiwurrung Tribe who were part of the Kulin Nation, and this language was used in the Wallan area. Murrack also reflects local fauna found in the area. You can have your say online. The survey closes at 9am on 22 February. More info and survey https://bit.ly/39YlKHH

10.01.2022 Hudson Park in Kilmore is getting a little summer makeover With an uneven surface and barely any grass during the hotter months, the lower section of the park is rarely used by park goers. However, in the past few weeks we've installed irrigation, levelled and top dressed the surface, undertaken weed control and re-seeded the area with a drought-tolerant and hardy grass. This means families will soon be able to use the area to enjoy a social kick of footy, game of cricket or throw a frisbee.

09.01.2022 Hadfield Park is a beautiful space - let's try keep it that way, yes? We know the park's play space is insanely popular at the moment, but we're getting a little fed up with cleaning up the mess that is being left behind by visitors. Please, if the bins are full we ask you to take your waste home with you. Our contractor empties the bins six days each week, but on busy days the bins can sometimes fill up before they are emptied again.... We have CCTV monitoring in place and offenders may be prosecuted.
