04.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Some key information released over the past 24 hours current as of Thursday March 26. There are two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Mid...west and two in the Wheatbelt. The locations of confirmed cases are not specified to protect the privacy of individuals, however tracking is undertaken to advise close contacts of anyone who tests positive. You will be notified directly by police or relevant authorities if you have come in contact with an infected person or you are at risk of contracting COVID-19. The Government is widening the criteria for coronavirus testing to include "suspect cases". SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES - From midnight this morning, premises such as gyms, beauty salons and other places of gathering will no longer be able to trade. Food courts in shopping centres are open for take-away food only. Funerals and weddings are subject to STRICT restrictions on the number of guests. Weddings can have no more than 5 people and funerals no more than ten. EDUCATION The WA Premier has asked parents to keep children home from school if they can access online learning resources, with the last day of the current term brought forward to April 3. ELECTIVE SURGERIES From midnight this morning, all elective surgery, other than category one and urgent category two cases, was suspended in public hospitals. If youre due to have elective surgery, check with your doctor. COVID-19 CLINICS There is currently a COVID-19 clinic in Bunbury, with plans to set up clinics throughout regional WA, including Geraldton, in the near future. LIQUOR The WA Government has placed strict restrictions on the amount of packaged liquor that can be bought at liquor stores for a two week trial. TRANSPORT All new arrivals into WA from interstate MUST self-isolate for 14 days. There will be exemptions for essential workers and to protect our supply chains for food, medicines and resources. TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS From 9pm on Thursday March 26, access will be restricted into the Kimberley (comprising all four local government areas); Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku; Parts of the Shire of East Pilbara that encompass the communities of Jigalong, Martu homeland communities and Kiwirrkurra. When seeking medical attention: If youre attending a GP or medical centre, call ahead of time and advise your doctor of your symptoms and travel history.
