25.01.2022 Wags here is a prime example of the great work Best Friends Animal Community do. Wags was picked up from the pound, unwanted, unloved and had just given up. He was very shut down and would only face away from people. After the care from his foster Mumma Aunty Aggie and the volunteers at best friends as you can see he's a brand new puppy. 24.01.2022 Finally got around to doing the turtle encounter at Mon Repos. This photo is from our second trip down to the beach, which we're told sometimes doesn't happen. All the other tourists had got the shuttle bus back and had left after we initially saw a laying loggerhead. We decided to be patient and hopeful and wait, and it paid off! We were lucky enough to be taken down to the beach AGAIN with only us and two other tourists!! Pictured is a Flatback turtle laying for her first... time on Mon Repos. One of the rangers counted the eggs and recorded the details while the others fitted a tracking device to her to monitor her activity over the coming months. It was a truly magical experience being present while these turtles lay and witnessing first hand the great work the rangers do to ensure these creatures thrive in the future. 09.01.2022 After a successful fundraising campaign to get 2 puppers flown down from Far North Queensland, both are safe and well in foster care in Brisbane and now looking for a home. This is Ollie, only 15 weeks old. He was very shy and timid at first but since being in care he is a happy, friendly and inquisitive little puppy. When he came into care with Best Friends Animal Community the smallest sized dog collar wouldn't fit him so he needed a cat collar! Poor lil guy! 07.01.2022 As Joaquin Phoenix said "I'm Still Here", and so am I, hopefully all my followers have stayed safe during the pandemic period and that life is starting to get back to normal. I had taken a step back from the business to finish my studies but now that's done and dusted i'm back, with some changes to the business plan. 03.01.2022 Those of you who know me will know how passionate I am about the welfare of our four-legged friends. Very few things in life give me the satisfying feeling like giving something back to the animals who give us their everything. In Brisbane I was lucky enough to work with the team at Best Friends Rescue. I was able to aid them in re-homing some of the dogs they had saved from terrible situations. Since moving up to Bundaberg it didn't take me long to sniff out (dog pun) another well deserving not for profit dog shelter, to volunteer my services to. I can't wait to introduce you to all the dogs they have rescued from being put down at the pound, and I am so grateful for being welcomed into their team. #adoptdontshop
