19.01.2022 Market Update: It was quite sad to have the date of the February market pass quietly by without our usual community gathering. Its high time for an update of where our discussions with other venues have taken us so far:... There are currently 3 or 4 community organisations with venues that are seriously considering hosting a makers market (or similar type of monthly event). They are located between 5-15km from Teralba Park, each with a unique set of benefits and challenges. We wont mention specific locations at this stage. These organisations are currently undergoing their own internal decision making as to whether a monthly event is right for them and their stakeholders. We will keep you updated on our progress. This break has finally given us time to organise an official not for profit organisation; one that is capable of organising makers markets and other types of ethical community events. Our goals for producing quality events, benefiting the whole community, have only solidified through this process. The organisation is called Tall Trees Events Inc. All in all we are quite positive in the current outlook. The drive towards a stronger makers movement and all round healthier communities will only be strengthened by the recent setback. We look forward to when we can provide more specific details.

17.01.2022 Dear Friends and Supporters of the Mitchie Makers Markets, It is difficult for us to bring this sad news about our markets. An email came through late last night to say the Club can no longer accommodate the Mitchie Makers Markets. The markets had been promised they would continue but it seems the new committee has taken a strictly football focus and as a result they have decided there is no room for a community event. ... In the end I feel that everything which could have been done had been done to keep the markets running in their current format. Im sorry to have to bring you this news. We had a good 2years, some really good memories over that time and met some wonderful people. The growth of the markets exceeded everyone's expectations and it seemed set to continue until we reached our current setback. Its a shame it couldnt continue considering the overwhelming support it had from so many people. Thanks for your help in supporting the locally handmade movement.
