10.01.2022 Today I attempted my first ever wet plate images. It's a 150 year old photographic technique that was popular during the US Civil War. I'm over the moon with the results considering I have a lot to learn. Much more practice to come. Stay tuned. I'll be needing some willing people to pose for a portrait in the not too distant future. 10.01.2022 I am very excited to announce that I have started my journey into the wonderful world of wet plate photography. It is a 150 year old photographic technique popular from the 1850's to the 1880's. It predates film as invented by Kodak. It was in use during the US Civil War and all of the photographs from that time would have been made using this technique. If you've seen any photo of Abraham Lincoln then you've seen wet plate photography in action. I will be doing portraits and landscapes with this technique. This will be my chosen medium for my major folio for TAFE this year. I will be keeping you all up to date with my progress.
