17.01.2022 I know its been a long time since I posted anything on here, however rest assured that I have not given up on this. I have been doing a lot of research and planning, and am planning to do a small trial over the next month or so. I will post on here when I have any further news.

17.01.2022 { BIRRR Regional Internet Access Survey 2015 } SURVEY LINK: www.tinyurl.com/BIRRRsurvey15 Survey is live and ready to complete , thanks to all the guinea pigs ...and people working behind the scenes to get this survey ready to roll. A huge big thank you to Rachel Hay who has spent many hours on the phone and via email to ensure that we will be able to collect the data we need to lobby for "Better Internet for RRR Australia". We ask all BIRRR members who can ONLY access mobile broadband or satellite to complete the survey. Other technologies will be looked at for future surveys. Please share with family and friends, we want this to be a significant data collection tool, and already have several industry groups interested in the data. Survey Closing Date is Monday 14th December 2015 The survey will take approx. 5 - 10 minutes depending on your connection, we have aimed to make it as easy and user friendly as possible. Before you do the survey you may like to have the following ready: * Your internet account - data, costs, provider * What type of internet do you use ? Ask BIRRR if you are unsure * Your electoral role address (please use your electoral role locality to assist mapping, all info is confidential and is not linked to your name. * Speed Test Results - please take note of your download and upload speeds. Satellite speed testers MUST use Sydney + Telstra or Optus. Mobile Broadband Speed testers must use their capital city and their provider or Telstra or Optus. Speed results are best completed at HOME on your MAIN COMPUTER that is connected via a LAN cable connection to your router or direct to your modem rather than WIFI http://www.speedtest.net NB You don't have to fill the survey in one go, your responses will be saved as long as you have ‘cookies enabled’ on your computer. AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS ONLY PLEASE Any questions please ask :)

08.01.2022 I am planning the construction of a large wireless internet network to provide fast, reliable and affordable internet to rural homes and businesses in under-served areas. I intend to eventually cover much of Central, Northern and North West Victoria, focusing on areas that are not included in the NBN wireless rollout. It would appear that the NBN wireless rollout will miss many areas, leaving them with a second-rate satellite based service.... My plans involve using quality Fixed Wireless radio equipment to provide a similar service to the NBN wireless. Fixed Wireless means an antenna and radio would be professionally installed on your house or business, allowing for a controlled and more-or-less guaranteed quality of service, without dropouts, within approximately 20km’s of my transmitters. In order to determine the viability of this, I am conducting a survey to determine the demand for such a service. If you are interested in such a service, please fill out the survey at http://www.mitiamoit.com.au/survey/index.html, or, for more information call me on 0438 028 656 or email me [email protected].

05.01.2022 Recently completed this project below for a customer. It allows them to pick up the NBN Fixed Wireless (which is far better than satellite) at a location on their farm where it is available, and sends it wirelessly back to their house where a NBN signal could not be obtained. The cabling has been tidied up since the photos were taken. This whole setup is powered by a solar panel and battery.... They now have 1000GB of data running at approximately 25/5Mbps (30ms ping) at their farm house for under $100/month.

02.01.2022 Trying out some wireless equipment...
