22.01.2022 For those who followed our post on the Nordic hamstring curl from last week - here are five more exercises we use in our programming to ensure hamstring robustness. With attachments over both the knee and hip, it is essential to work knee flexion and hip extension in various contractions, speeds and angles for complete coverage of the muscle fibres. Any weak spot is an injury risk spot.... And we don't like risks. Train appropriately. --- CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR HAMSTRINGS? For a comprehensive athletic development screening be sure to jump onto the website and book yourself in to our NEW screening appointments! With two options available (basic and advanced) these screenings will provide you a detailed analysis of your movements and assist you in developing a program to iron out any risk factors we may find. From strength and range to landing mechanics and power, we have you covered. WWW.MITISEPHYSIO.COM.AU --- #Mitise #Physiotherapy #Rehab #Training #Performance #Sport

08.01.2022 Stolen straight from the @physionetwork because well, the background colour really caught our eye, the Nordic hamstring curl is probably one of the most researched and known exercises for assisting with developing sniper-proof hamstrings. A fundamentally eccentric-based exercise (aiming to control the lengthening of the muscle under tension), it is staple of our team-based risk reduction programming but definitely not the be-all and end-all. We have a veritable suite of knee ...and hip-dominant exercises for this purpose, which - when combined with a scientifically guided and creatively applied sprint training protocol - will target all facets of the posterior chain and ensure hamstring strain risk stays lower than your nose on a properly executed Nordic curl. See what we did there? --- WWW.MITISEPHYSIO.COM.AU --- #Mitise #Physiotherapy #Hamstring #Training #Rehab

02.01.2022 RESIDUAL STRENGTH - is defined as the load or force (usually mechanical) that a damaged object or material can still carry without failing. RESIDUAL STRENGTH in regards to your body, could then be defined as the minimum viable strength you have to ensure you stay injury-free whilst still playing your sport. It is for this reason we encourage continuing to train throughout your rehabilitation and minimising your days off and/or away from the gym.... Keep base strength up - keep injury rates low. Simple!
