24.09.2021 #DIY Holiday Project A DIYer realised she didn't like the colour of the new cabinets she recently purchased and assembled. So she oomped up the cabinets with some colour! Products used:... Scotch Blue Pre-Taped Masking Film Uni-Pro Little Ripper Micro-Fibre Roller Cover 100mm 4mm Nap Uni-Pro Mini Roller Tray Accent Slide On Roller Frame 100mm Frog Tape (highly recommended) 3M Sandblaster Sanding Sheets and Blocks 3M P2 Dust Mask A random 10mm paint brush that she found in her craft box Accent and Dulux Colour Samplers (x6) Final colour: Dulux Wash & Wear Low Sheen Dark Door (which I love!) Dulux Precision Maximum Strength Adhesive Primer (a must for flat pack furniture) Tips: Allocate time for the project Flat pack furniture will need more work to get it paint ready. Therefore thrifting will be a good idea. Paint the furniture before aseembly. Our DIYer thought sanding down flat pack furniture would suffice but it didn’t. So she stripped down the first coat of paint, sanded the surface down to almost the bare timber and then used the max strength primer to make sure the paint would stick. Looking at the pictures we can see that it was all worth her effort!
