24.01.2022 Firefighters can be nocturnal creatures. 378 responding to early morning vehicle fire, then numerous nighttime AFAs, fire alarms. Then just at the end of a very long day, following a sleepless night.... truck accident Hume Hwy this afternoon. Minor injuries and large spill dealt with. Hagrid express home.

19.01.2022 378 new retained recruits spent this week a phase training. Initially at Albion Park and then Orchard Hills. ( Disneyland for firefighters) Thanks to all our dedicated trainers .

19.01.2022 Multi Agency response to a structure fire in Hill Top this afternoon. On arrival the house was well alight with fire through the roof. Fire and Rescue crews from Mittagong and Picton along with local RFS crews working hard, were able to extinguish the fire and then begin salvage of any savable contents.

18.01.2022 RFS crews alongside Fire and Rescue 378 and 234 stations, extinguishing this morning fire Hume Hwy. Truck has been removed and Highway is now open.

05.01.2022 Crew working today to remove asbestos from roadway at Welby.

04.01.2022 Southern Highlands emergency services participated in a multi agency exercise today at Boral Berrima. Such exercises allows emergency services to participate in complex scenarios, working and identifying best practice outcomes for real events. 378s role was responding to a confined space rescue incident. Thanks to Boral for the use of their complex, participation and all other services on scene, many lessons learnt.

03.01.2022 378 attending vehicle accident, driver transported with lower leg injuries. Fire in bathroom heater/ light / fan. The level of protection for occupants in modern vehicles is amazing and fire due to heat lamp coming into contact with light fixture.

02.01.2022 Long night and early morning for Fire and Rescue firefighters last night. Crew attending Breathing Apparatus training at Station. Then called to House alight Mittagong. 378 Mittagong, 234 Bowral and 385 Moss Vale in attendance. Fire finally extinguished midnight and crews returned home around 2 am. Then up again this morning at 6.30 for re ignition and then Fire investigation to determine cause.

02.01.2022 378 Mittagong along with 234 Bowral responded to house fire Mittagong this afternoon. Resident did a great job in extinguishing a fire that started in the domestic plastic waste bin. Fire compromise both the Gas and Electrical supplies with utilities companies called to make safe. Please be vigilant when placing anything hot in plastic bins. ( if it’s too hot to touch it’s too hot for the bin )
