24.01.2022 Important notice to our clients Mivet will be closing early at 4pm on Friday 2nd October and will re open on Tuesday 6th October at 8:30am. Enjoy the long weekend and soak up some just like Jack the chihuahua after his dental procedure.
23.01.2022 CATCH OF THE DAY Little Marshall came to visit us yesterday after he found himself caught on a fishing lure. After his owners tried to cut the hooks out themselves, they found that Marshall was way too wiggly! Luckily for Marshall, Dr. Alastair was able to give a light sedation and cut the hooks out. Hopefully next time young Marshall will leave the hooks for the fish We understand that accidents happen, and we will always be here to help!
22.01.2022 We understand the current Covid-19 situation will be on the minds of many of our clients. We are open as normal until advised otherwise and are still here to care for your pets Please do not keep them at home if they are unwell To ensure the health and safety of both our clients and their fur babies we recommend the following: Please phone ahead to order required medicine or food, worming and flea control in advance so we can arrange to have them ready for you witho...ut the need to wait. Try to limit the number of people who come in with your pet. Where possible one pet parent is best. If you are unwell or needing to self isolate and your pet requires veterinary attention, then please phone us for advice on what we can do for your pet. Your pet is part of your family and ours, we are still here to help

19.01.2022 Here we have a brave little Jellie, the 5 month old Staffy X just before her desexing procedure! Jellie was so brave all day and while she may look a little worried in the photo, she didn’t want to leave when her dad come to pick her up! Jellie is definitely a favourite here at Mivet because she is always so excited to see us and never wants to go home! No wonder Nurse Jordan couldn’t resist cuddles

18.01.2022 Anzac Day is the time to pay our respects to the brave men and women that, present and past, have served for us and our country. We have all heard the stories of our Aussie Veterans but the tales of service animals are sometimes forgotten. These brave animals played critical roles in armed conflicts from providing comfort to vital service activities. This post is in honour of our animal and human veterans that have sacrificed so much and made significant contribution. Stay safe and give your furry loved ones an extra special hug today.

15.01.2022 RABBIT VACCINATION DAY! We are currently organising a vaccination day for all those adorable bunnies out there! We need at least 10 rabbits before we can go ahead as the vaccine comes in large 10 dose vials that need to be used on the same day. The vaccine is for calicivirus (also known as rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus) a highly infectious and fatal disease affecting both wild and pet rabbits. The virus is spread through contact, carried by the wind, flies, fleas, and m...osquitoes. Sadly, there is no treatment for this terrible condition, so prevention is key! For more information on calicivirus and how to protect your furry friends, please see the following links: https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au//2017/pet-rabbit-protection-tips https://kb.rspca.org.au//what-is-rabbit-calicivirus-and-h/ Please phone the clinic on 6914 9111 to register your interest in the vaccination day.
13.01.2022 COVID Update for Mivet At Mivet we are still trying our best to make sure that we practice and help your pets in the safest way possible. When arriving at Mivet, we ask that you please abide by our instructions so that we can stay Covid safe. 1. Please read the sign on the door. Please do not enter if within the last 2 weeks: - You have felt unwell - Have travelled to any covid hotspots... - Have been in contact with someone who is unwell -Have recently returned from overseas 2. Ring the bell so that a member of staff can serve you. Do not enter the building unless you have been told to do so. The door will remain locked at all times. 3. Scan the QR code to register that you have been here. This is so that in the event of an outbreak the appropriate contact tracing can be done. If you are unable to scan the code, please let a member of staff know so that we can do it for you. 4. Sanitise your hands BEFORE entering the clinic. Please also take note of the signs within the building which state how many people can safely be in each room. We’d like to thank everyone for their co-operation so far Have a great weekend!

11.01.2022 Snake season is well and truly upon us! Unlucky for Daisy she became victim to a deadly brown snake. When Daisy's owners came home in the afternoon they found a dead brown snake in the same yard as Daisy. At first Daisy seemed okay, then she began shaking and became unwell. Daisy's owners quickly rushed her to Dr Alastair and the team where they were able to provide urgent and life saving treatment. Luckily for Daisy she made a fantastic recovery and was able to go home the following afternoon. Here she is pictured wearing her beautiful Staffy smile with Trainee nurse Kasey.

08.01.2022 What better way to warm up in this cold and cloudy weather than snuggles with bundles of kittens?! Our team was lucky enough to spend the day with this gorgeous bunch. The two black and white boys are up for adoption and have stolen our hearts! They are de-sexed, micro-chipped, and vaccinated purr monsters! They would make a loving addition to any home that needs a playful and smitten kitten. Contact the clinic or RADAR for further information on Valentino and Paintpot
07.01.2022 Meet Little Walt! Walt came in to see Dr. Alastair to get his booster vaccination and check up. How cute is he?!
07.01.2022 How handsome does 11 year old Maverick look after his cyst removal surgery. Maverick had a cyst on the top of his head that refused to heal, which would become annoying for both Maverick and his owners. After a quick consultation, Dr Alastair along with Mavericks owners, decided that the best option would be to remove it. Maverick had an awesome anaesthetic and recovered wonderfully with a brand new hair-do! Good boy Maverick!

03.01.2022 Willow’s Story Meet little willow! Willow was brought into us by her owner after she had stopped eating and started vomiting a lot, after many days and many tests done, it was found that Willow had Feline pancreatitis! Because Willow was still refusing to eat, Dr Alastair placed a nasal feeding tube, and Willow was on her way to recovery. Luckily after 3 days, willow decided that she would start eating by herself and the feeding tube was removed. By the following day Willow was allowed to go home back to her mum and her furry siblings! Throughout the whole process, Willow remained lovely as ever and absolutely loved being cuddled by staff!
