08.01.2022 URGENT NOTICE - TASMAN MUNCIPALITY As Mayor of the Tasman, I ask all residents and visitors to please restrict all unnecessary travel. ... If Tasman is not your permanent place of residence, I respectfully request for you to return to your home as soon as possible. After witnessing today, the amount of traffic on our local roads, it seems we are not taking the messages from Government seriously. Just look at the top of your mobile phone, next to your carrier’s name - #StayHome. Remind your neighbours and friends that even our Tasmanian Premier requested this morning do not go to your shack. With our essential services currently still able to operate, the local shops and takeaways are providing supplies, this extra demand will place enormous pressure on these services and possibility force their closure earlier than expected. Please we can all do this. We have the opportunity to save lives by undertaking this simple act for our community, our State and the Country we all love. Therefore, I urge you all to act now and isolate before we are forced into a total lock down! Stay safe, Kelly Please be respectful we are already in a State of Emergency

08.01.2022 Congratulations to the Crows -a great game, unfortunate circumstances in the end but still well played

04.01.2022 Merry Christmas to you all, please stay safe on the roads!

04.01.2022 That pedal next to the brake don’t use it to speed up while being overtaken Picture this you’re driving at 100km in the 110km zone on a highway while in th...e double lane overtaking area a car from behind indicates to overtake you so you deliberately increase your speed to 110km while they’re attempting to overtake This is unsafe and if you are intercepted by police you face a fine of $140 yes it is an offence, which is ‘Increase speed while being overtaken and before overtaking vehicle has safely returned’. If you’re driving slowly and there is a large line of vehicles behind you, pull over and let them pass you, it will add less than a few minutes to your trip and help make our roads safer. If you drive slowly and cause traffic congestion and you are intercepted by police you could face a fine of $100 yes it is an offence, which is ‘Drive without reasonable consideration for other road users’. ______________________________ Traffic Tuesday is a Tasmania Police initiative, developed for state-wide use on a fortnightly basis and aimed at reducing serious and fatal crashes by enhancing driver behaviour through education. http://www.police.tas.gov.au//traffic-pol/traffic-tuesday/
