20.01.2022 As of Friday were proud to say that M.J. Bale and our wool growing partner, Simon Cameron of Kingston Farm, have begun a world-first farm trial to produce Carbon Neutral Wool. Over the next 300 days a mob of 25 18-month-old Kingston Merino ewes will be fed daily a dietary supplement made from asparagopsis seaweed, grown sustainably in Tasmania by producer, Seaforest. This Carbon Neutral Wool project is part of M.J. Bales Infinity program, and its objective is to reduce Me...rino methane emissions to undetectable levels, while lowering on-farm greenhouse gas emissions. "The biggest opportunity for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, says Simon, is in how we look after our animals and how we look after our land to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the outset.
