15.01.2022 Bloat is a common problem this time of year with bountiful lush pastures, especially if your paddocks have a high percentage of legumes like clover. Bloate Ade lick blocks are molassas based and contain alcohol ethoxylate, which works to break down the foam (from over active fermentation) that stops the animal from passing gas.... Better than seeing your animals blow up like an over-inflated balloon!! $49 per 18kg block

14.01.2022 Preparing for a good result this spring may be the difference between getting one and not. The last couple of years we have seen dry springs and drier summers and those who planned and prepared early didnt get a piss poor performance from their crops. The fantastic Autumn break and fair winter have drained nutrients from your soil which if not replaced may cause a poorer start to spring than you may be expecting. If you dont have the ability to make it rain through irrigati...on (or prayer, or a really good rain dance!) - you need to be ready to get your spring sown fodder crops and perennial pastures in as early as possible. Ensuring that they have the right soil moisture to get their roots down before the top soil gets too dry. The difference between a good strike and a bad one can be as little as a few days, especially if we get the winds again like last year. Those of you who need a good silage or hay cut, remember that your nitrogen levels are exceptionally low due to the great autumn so initial growth will be slow this spring if you dont apply some SOA or urea. If you wait for your legumes to provide the nitrogen that you need, you will waste the first few weeks of good growing weather as they require a much higher temp to do their thing than your ryegrass. Dont assume that the rains will continue like the last few days as there are many areas in Tassie that have had the driest July in history. We may very well have more dry times in front of us so lets not waste the moisture that we have just because it is wet now. If you wait for the wettest area to be dry enough to prepare the ground, the other 90% may not have enough ground moisture to give you a good strike. Please dont hesitate to give us a call.
