25.01.2022 Congratulations to all of today's graduates at the Australian Defence Force Academy and thanks to the Royal Australian Air Force for the fantastic flyovers this morning over Canberra. It doesn't matter how old you get. When a fast jet goes by, we are all 5 years old and have to look up in awe.

24.01.2022 In my humble opinion, the biggest battle we commonly face each day is what goes on in our own minds. How are we perceived? Have I done the right thing? Is that person ok? How can I do things better next time?... Did I leave the iron on? Is there going to be a epic photo? Did I miss it? The answer I find to most of these questions is "You never know. It depends" and the last one is totally up to you. Get outside, take your camera. Chase the image. Stop wondering.

24.01.2022 There's places that end up on postcards for a reason. This is one of those places. #holidayherethisyear #australia #noosa #getoutside #surf #beach #queenslandtourism

23.01.2022 The mountains are moody today my friends. Even the most beautiful places go through dark, cold and windy days. But how can we best appreciate the sunshine, without a love of the storm? Embrace it. Turn up the collar of your jacket and smile against the tempest, for those warm rays of sun will return to your face and light up that same smile. #photophilosophy

22.01.2022 Clear skies and a warm sun over Canberra this evening.

22.01.2022 Water is the reason we are all alive. The elixir of life. We are incredibly fortunate this year to see it once again falling from the sky. The Cotter Dam, at capacity. #visitcanberra #YesYouCanberra #canberra #elixiroflife

22.01.2022 The Snowy River meanders through gentle valleys near Dalgety as it takes its 352km journey from the roof of Australia to the ocean. The visible snow covered peaks are (L-R) Mt Perisher, Mt Back Perisher and Rocky Knob in Perisher Ski Resort 40km to the south. There's more the Snowys than what you might think.... #snowymountainsnsw #australia #snowyriver #getoutside #newsouthwales

21.01.2022 It's incredible to see the difference 10 days can make. Early last week Canberra woke up to a chilly morning and a layer of snow across the Brindabellas. Today the warm northwesterly winds were blowing and spring is definitely on it's way with the blossom popping up all over the place and the wattle starting to bloom. The seasonal nature of south eastern Australia gives it a wonderful character. Make sure you get out to enjoy it. Visit Canberra

21.01.2022 Real estate is in high demand these days. Cootapatamba Hut, deep in the mountains is a beacon of safety for those unfortunate souls who get navigationally challenged in the valley to the south of Mt Kosciuszko in poor weather. It also happens to be a great spot for a cuppa in what was almost complete silence today. Simply beautiful day to be out in the backcountry. . #getoutside #backcountry #ski #explore #kosciuszkonationalpark #lovewinter #snowymountainsnsw

20.01.2022 Floriade is a little different this year. It's been reimagined and the blooms have been spread about the city to share the spring love. I look forward to getting some colourful images in the next few weeks to share with you. #floriade #canberra #spring #getoutside #visitcanberra

19.01.2022 Details are important in life. Knowing which ones to focus on, how important they are and how to put them in perspective. Life has many complicated details and some less so. Sitting in the silence yesterday, away from the rat race, it reminded me yet again to look at all the details, move around and don't forget to open the window and let the fresh air in. Or maybe I'm just waxing lyrical and I like taking photos of contrast, frames, colour and beautiful places ... #photophilosophy #details #focus #getoutside #snowymountainsnsw #hut

16.01.2022 Do not weep for the end of winter. But embrace all the seasons, as the mighty Snowy River drains the winters snow melt on it's long journey to the ocean. Witnessing the circle of life each year is something that I cherish as the mountains winter coat begins to subside and a glimpse of summer arrives. It's also a fantastic time to go ski touring and camping. Longer days, warmer temps and a stable snow pack. Pick your line and rip the corn :-)

16.01.2022 When your home is inundated with tourists, you need to use your head to steer clear and go to the places they don't know about. The joys of living in the mountains. Happy New Year everyone. I hope we can all work towards peace, health, acceptance and harmony with each other and our world.

16.01.2022 While walking yesterday in the rainforest we found a very content Carpet Python curled up among the forest floor right next to the walking trail. Now I get that snakes are not everyone's favourite animal. But all of the creatures have their beauty, this one being its amazing patterned skin. Being a cool rainy day, this lovely python was super chilled. We took our photo with a 400mm lens and tripod from a distance and let him sleep. ... 11.01.2022 The Poppy garden at the @awmemorial is in full bloom. While we unfortunately couldn't gather at the memorial for the service yesterday due to Covid, it didn't stop us from taking the time to remember those who gave their lives for us. We always remember them. Lest we forget. The memorial is always there and it's still one of the best places in Canberra to visit. 08.01.2022 This weekends winter blast has seen snow fall all over the place. And what better things to do when it snows than go outside! What a magical little hike this afternoon at Tidbinbilla.
