21.01.2022 TIME We all have 24hrs in a day to get shit done. So no excuses right? I mean, life is choices, I’m cool with that :-) but for now, no gym or me time! Maintaining is my current life, not long left until I say goodbye. I’m not going to know myself when I have time to actually live

21.01.2022 EXERCISING ON HOLIDAYS ... Im a massive fan of moving on holidays, however break the everyday cycle. Instead of hitting the gym, lifting weights, doing classes etc, Try playing games with the kids like cricket, frisbee, tennis, you dont even need equipment, use coconuts as shot puts, use sticks for beach sprints, create memories with your loved ones by getting everyone involved. We were lucky enough to have an awesome crew with us these holidays, so we did some amazing extra curricular sports such as zip-lining, sup boarding, skim boarding, sand sledding, tubing, go for a hike. See new things, visit new places We sure did make some amazing memories on Fraser Island.

09.01.2022 WILL WOMEN BULK UP FROM WEIGHT TRAINING The number of women who express their fear of bulking up from doing strength training with me grows every day. Almost all the women who train with me want to increase overall fitness for day to day activities and tone up. The fact is most women wont bulk up from lifting weights. All youve heard to the contrary in countless fitness magazines, on social media pages, and on every daytime talk show on air is wrong. Marketers in the... fitness world know how to use buzz words to their advantage. Thats right, toned, long, and lean muscles are just the same as those scary, big, bulky, and manly muscles that scare women away from lifting weights. DEBUNKING THE MYTHS Lets start with the word toned. The dictionary tells us that the term toned implies leanness in the body, noticeable muscle definition and shape, but not significant muscle size. There is not one type of exercise that will tone your muscles. Lifting light weights at high repetitions is not a proven method of specifically lowering body fat, nor is lifting heavy weights. The amount of weight you use does not matter. First and foremost, women do not have nearly enough testosterone in their bodies to bulk up. In fact, the average female has about 15-20 times less testosterone than men do. Testosterone aids in muscle building. Proper, high-intensity strength training, safely applied, is one of the most important things that a woman can do to ensure an overall better quality of life. You will absolutely reap the benefits of increased lean muscle mass, improved bone density and cardiovascular health, better insulin control, fat loss, and better athletic performance. Rest assured, the notorious bulk will not happen, and remember anyone touting claims of being able to tone and lengthen are simply misleading you. ~informfitness

07.01.2022 Apple and Cranberry Oat Cookies Ingredients: - 1 cup rolled oats - 1 apple grated... - 1/4 cup unsweetened cranberries - 1 egg - 1/2 tsp cinnamon - 1/4 cup wholemeal self raising flour - 2 tbsp maple syrup Method: 1. Preheat oven to 160C and line a tray with baking paper. 2. Place all ingredients into bowl and mix well. 3. Pick up a tablespoon of mixture and squeeze and roll it into ball. 4. Press down gently to make it into a cookie shape on the tray (cookies will firm and hold once cooked). 5. Bake for 10 minutes, then flip over and bake for a further 10 minutes or until golden. 92 Calories per serve *Credit ready set toned fitness

Star 101.9 and Mackay Women's Services are asking the community to band together and help out these struggling families by submitting hampers of food and Christmas goodies. These hampers will go towards helping families who rely on the Mackay Women's Centre, Domestic Violence Resource Service and ...Mackay Women’s Sexual Assault Service. To contribute, simply bring an item no matter how big or small & place it in the box under our MJFIT Xmas tree in our studio. I will drop these goods to the Mackay Women's Centre at 418A Shakespeare St, West Mackay QLD 4740 on tue 8/12 so make sure your goods are added before then. Wondering what? It could be a Pkt of bonbons, Santa hats, toys for kids and/or a little gift for the mothers, or some non perishable items such as: Biscuits, Custard, Jelly, Tin Fruit, Taco Kit, Lollies, Potato Chips, Tea/coffee/Sugar, Tinned Veggies or maybe you’d prefer to give a Fuel voucher, Meat voucher etc. It doesn’t have to be much, every little bit helps xx thanks to you all for being such amazing humans xx

This is whats going to help keep you on track on the days youre lacking motivation, or feel like giving up. Being able to communicate with your coach effectively at this point is crucial because you can feel incredibly isolated, feelings of fear & failure, which if not managed, can definitely hold you back. Having someone you can ...keep close to help keep you accountable is crucial. Putting some time aside to map out a SMART goals will help you define your why and will ultimately give you purpose to train. It will give you a reason to show up every day even when you dont feel like it. Every goal is personal and no matter how big or small it is, its yours & it will become a lifelong achievement we can conquer together.
