It has been a busy time where I have been doing a lot of soul searching and discovering where I would like Miss MJs to be going. I love working with children and providing open ended play and learning opportunities and products. I strongly believe in Play based learning for all children and wish that it was more widely available for children above kindy. 20.01.2022 Hi all, I am considering opening a educational therapy office and wondering if this would be something parents would use. Educational therapy is about learning how to learn. It is individual and looks at breaking down the barriers to learning and developing learning skills that are suited to the child. It can be covered under self and plan managed NDIS. It would be located in Highfields.

15.01.2022 I took my sensory balls with me to a friends house last week to test them out. The little 6 month old thought it was great for chewing on and the 3 and 5 year olds thought it was great to toss or roll to each other. My 9 year old finds that it is a soothing toy to hold, squeeze or play with her friends. I have even seen her rub it on her cheek. My sensory balls are made with rice or flour in a calico pouch and then crochet over. $4.50 each or 5 for $15.

09.01.2022 NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2020 While 2020 is coming to an end Miss MJ's Learning Support is just starting out. I would like to thank all my old and new clients for working so hard to reach their goals. I will be taking a short break to recharge from the 20th December 2020 until the 3rd January 2021. I have limited capacity for new clients for 2021. Don’t leave it too late. If you are considering how Miss MJ’s will be beneficial to improving your child’s literacy and/or numeracy... skills in 2021 then organise a FREE consult and secure your spot for term 1 2021. All sessions are run in my air-conditioned office in Highfields. Each session is 45 minutes and is planned for the individual needs of the child. Sessions run Monday - Thursday from 9:30am - 5:00pm. Is your child an NDIS participant? If you are a self or plan managed participant, funding can be used to pay for the service. Weekly bookings Weekly bookings run during school terms Only. I do offer limited holiday sessions during the summer break to assist with continuity of skill progression. So, book in early!! Existing Clients Things to consider Will you be requiring sessions during the holidays? Please speak to Miss Mel to book your preferred day and time. Will you be continuing in term 1 2021? Please speak to Miss Mel to book your preferred day and time. Summer Holidays Numeracy Intensive This summer holidays I will be offering a Numeracy Skills Intensive Program. This involves three (3) individualised sessions each week for three (3) weeks leading back to school. This is open to existing and non-existing clients. There are only limited spaces available so, book in now! The sessions will run from 4th January 2021 - 22nd January 2021. The total cost is $540 with a $120 deposit to be paid on confirmation of attendance, with the remainder to be paid by 22nd January 2021.
