12.01.2022 Whenever you hear your doctor use the word syndrome, run! It means they really don't understand the cause of your problem. Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome is one of thos...e. It describes pain in the medial ankle area, where 3 tendons, an artery, and a nerve pass through a "tunnel". But what's the cause? Repetitive strain is the likely suspect. If one or more of those tendons becomes inflamed, that reduces the room for the nerve and artery, and the symptoms appear. Why are the tendons inflamed exactly? I often find the tibialis posterior, flexor hallucis longus, and flexor digitorum, overworking for weak glutes.
