20.01.2022 STEPS!!! I walked a while today. I had to try. I’m still no weight bearing but I knew I could do it. So after some Achilles stretches I gave it a go it’s only been 3 weeks and 4 days. The human body is incredible. My ankle is also now majorly swollen but

19.01.2022 This was me last Thursday. In a drug haze after my ankle surgery. Monday now and I’m doing so much better. I have movement through the joint. I’m managing to move small distances on one crutch and become more self sufficient. The hardest thing isn’t the physical side of this; it’s mentally reminding myself I have another 11 days before the stitches come out and another 5 weeks and 4 days before I’m allowed to put weight through my right leg again. I hate being a burden and it’s unfortunately how I’m feeling. But; this too shall pass

19.01.2022 How did you spend your week? Mine was spent walking, jogging, and lifting again. I barely got sleep from the kids and my partner. But I haven’t felt so anxious. And I haven’t felt so down. The sun makes me feel alive, as does the fresh air. And all this movement makes me a happier human and mum. I’m doing dry July and I have noticed a difference to my skin and head space (INSANE). I’ve taken it back to the advice I give to my clients; and I’m feeling good

18.01.2022 Sometimes people assume as a personal trainer we were born fit, strong, and athletic... but no. You’re incorrect. If you had of told me 8 years ago I’d be a personal trainer now who thrived on moving her body. Who was a healthy size 8 and who loved life. Who enjoyed walks and surfing and getting up early to exercise I would have laughed in your face. This is nothing to do with weight. Or size. Or my shape. This has everything to do with my mental health. I got into exercise a...fter years of anxiety dealt me depression when my youngest son was 4 months old. I was miserable. I didn’t like to go out and do much and I couldn’t run around with my two kids for long periods; I hated that. My transformation didn’t happen overnight. It didn’t happen in 8 weeks. Or 6 months. It took me consistent work. It took me over 24 months to go from a size 16 to a size 8. I had ups and downs. I stalled sometimes but I kept pushing. Because the more consistent I was the happier I was; in my head. Everyone saw the weight loss; but few saw the strength I grew. Happier in me. Healthier in my head and my body. A happier mum. And a woman who finally knew her worth and what she wanted in life

16.01.2022 Check out that front (right) ankle I am beyond stoked with my progress of late. I’m now back to doing box jumps (minimal; I cap it at 5 before I take it back to a step up). I can squat. Lunge. The cold mornings are difficult, and whenever anything rubs against either bolt I kind of want to vomit but hey... progress. I didn’t think I would have the flexion back in my ankle by now for bends and to start working on my flexibility again... but here we are. Now to start working back on the splits

She packs a m...ean punch when she trains but she is a big softy at heart and shows her clients their true potential! This weekend she will be doing a LIVE PT Session during our birthday celebrations so you can see exactly what she does with her clients. There will be some heavy weights but also some fun and laughter (don't worry, she doesn't make everyone lift that heavy).

05.01.2022 LONG POST MINDSET - what do you think when you see me posting this photo? Of my accomplishments so far this challenge? Of weight loss? Me showing off? Negative.... What do I see? I see the amount of muscle I have lost. I know how much strength I’ve lost. I see a broken and uncomfortable body. On Thursday last week I got worse news than I expected about my ankle. The easiest way to describe it is next month I’m having an ankle reconstruction. My (worst scenario) recovery time is 2 months no driving. 4 months not at Bodies; doing what I adore. And after that, standing for maximum an hour at a time. After 3 months I’ll have another operation to remove a rod and start allowing movement back into my ankle. On top of that, my anxiety has been destroying me, so I’ve been medicated. I have lost 5kgs in 12 days. I’m not happy with this either. ISo from the 8/4 I won’t be training or working for at least 4 months. I don’t need to tell you all this; but I am because LIFE. I’m just a normal person too with shit going on. This is why mindset is what’s most important. I’ve allowed my crying, screaming, anger, and my depressive state to pass; and now I’ve accepted that this is life. I can’t change any of this; but I do have the power to change the way I think about it. You can watch me recover (12 months full recovery). You can watch my rehab. And I will show you that anything is possible. Because I’ve got this

05.01.2022 Warming up & Demostrations - two very important things we never ever slack on at @bbdfit_maroochydore We need our clientele to be informed and understanding of the fact that you don’t just walk in and pick up some weights. You need to understand what you’re doing, how to do it correctly and what muscles you should be using.
