25.01.2022 From sweeping floors to scrubbing decks to chipping shell and countless other low paying soul draining (at times) jobs. Don't get me wrong I learnt life skills in every job I took on and enjoyed every experience along the way but there has always been a burning desire within me to capture in both photo and film beautiful imagery of the wonderful wildlife and landscapes Australia has to offer. 4 years ago I made the decision to just go for it, to take that leap of faith believ...e in myself and stop at nothing to make a living from working with camera's. The making of this film was planned 5 years ago, to head out and capture as much as possible so that I can create a really bloody cool video and that was honestly my inspiration. Currently I run my own business called MKH VisualAspect and I am doing exactly what I set out to achieve, to make a living working with camera equipment. I am a professional Photographer, Videographer and a Qualified Drone Pilot. I absolutely love my work and the opportunities that come with it, but the hard work that goes into the process of creating your own reality can be exhausting and relentless. 23.01.2022 Koh Samui Thailand Buddha Temple Wat Plai Laem, Took this photo on a holiday with Tats back in 2015, we only just got in to see the temples because they were closing the gates. I managed to snap a couple shots off, but this was my fav and yet to be posted. I was searching on my hard drives and stumbled across this image, so I decided to have a little fun with it in Photoshop and make it pop.... Now I really did have lots of fun with this image, got creative and added some stars, lifted the shadows, made those colours pop and I'm pretty happy with the final result. 22.01.2022 Black-Collared Hawk, Pantanal, South America. As we paddled our canoe down a small narrowing river, Wildman Adventures doing most of the work while I sit ready with my 600mm lens, waiting for any movement so I can spring into action. I then saw a hawk perched on a branch overhanging the water about 3 metres above us. I snapped a shot, and then I saw old mate coming in fast heading straight for the other hawk, so I snapped that shot. He then landed next to her gently and ga...ve her one look, and IT WAS ON. We couldn't believe our luck, getting to witness Black-collared hawks mating in the wild was insane AND getting some unreal shots of the whole event unfolding was such a cool moment. 21.01.2022 I first started photographing this mama Caiman, and her baby's in a small pond of water in the wetlands somewhere in the Pantanal Brazil. I was stepping slowly, but my eyes were fixed on the mama Caiman, I was trying to get closer to get more clarity in the image, making no noise, stealth mode. Took a couple of shots but still wasn't satisfied, so I took one more step and CRACK, I stood on something and scared the Caiman away? I looked down and realised that I had just steppe...d into a pile of large snail shells. My first reaction was to look up and BANG there the Snail Kite was, perched on his lookout post waiting for any snail to make a mistake. What amazed me was the Kite never stressed about my presence, just let me casually take my photos, have a chat and move on. 18.01.2022 The adventures we went on with Legends of the Wild took us to some beautiful parts of the world, but Lake Karikucha was a dead set stand out, the largest of 3 crater lakes in the caldera of Mojanda. The caldera was formed by an explosive Plinian Eruption around 200,000 years ago. You can only imagine the power of an explosion that big, completely shattering the earth's crust and creating new land, it's bloody incredible. We filmed the last episode here called Executioner of t...he Andes. The valleys with HUGE mountains was like a painting everywhere you looked. This country was such beauty a place that's a little out of this world. 18.01.2022 Get ready guys this vid is an absolute banger I was fortunate enough to spend a couple days out on the Adelaide River working with the Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise team filming what I LOVE to capture, wildlife, landscapes and throwing it all together in a cinematic fashion. We managed to capture some incredible footage over the 2 days but one of the highlights was capturing Pearl the Hypomelanistic Crocodile SPRINT off the muddy bank crashing into the water.... It was a shot I envisioned getting but honestly, I never thought it would be a rare Albino croc that takes centre stage. I also created a behind the scenes video that I'll be dropping soon so stay tuned. 16.01.2022 - OLD PHOTO FRIDAY'S - It's hard to believe that five years have passed since these photos were taken. These were the days when I was living and working on a Pearl Farming Boat for Paspaley in the remote Kimberley's Western Australia. I also remember telling the lads back then that ONE DAY I will be working for Nat Geo or Discovery Channel and of course, the lads would just laugh and say " yea rightio, good luck with that mate." It's incredible the reality you can create when... you focus on who and what you want to become and CHASE IT with everything you got. Only five years ago I had no money, no equipment and no idea how to run a business. I got told multiple times NOT to chase impossible dreams, but I believed in my plan and just attacked relentlessly. 14.01.2022 #Pantanal #brazil The Jabiru is the tallest flying bird in South America and Central America. An adult Jabiru stands around 1.53metres (5.0ft) and weighs around 6.89kg (15.2lb). Its wingspan is a whopping 2.8metres (9.2ft) and the beak measures around 25-35cm (9.8-13.8inch). It's crazy to see this bird take flight, it truly is something awesome to watch, and when I saw the size of their nest WOW it was MASSIVE.... 09.01.2022 Saved a Wallaby today with Stephen Goat, details are a little horrific but let's hope this little fella pulls through A quick reminder to all people driving ...on Australian out back roads. ALWAYS carry or bring something in the car that can put an animal out of its misery QUICKLY. Remove the carcass from the road so that other scavenging wildlife feeding on the carcass doesn't get hit as well. If you can't kill it wave someone down who can. DON'T LEAVE IT to die slowly.
