18.01.2022 Mosquito Treatment Update Many of us have experienced what feels like plague proportions of mozzies in the past week! So here’s what we are doing about it! Aerial treatments were carried out in the Coombabah & Coomera Island breeding sites both last week and the week before.... This week we have Fogging treatments scheduled from Jacobs Well down to Coombabah. Paradise Point, Hollywell, Runaway Bay, Coombabah & Biggera Waters is currently scheduled for treatment on Thursday 30th. Coomera and Coomera Waters are scheduled for tomorrow. Hope Island, Oyster Cove and Helensvale are scheduled for Friday. The effects of the extensive treatments already undertaken as well as those planned for this week will show a significant reduction in numbers fairly quickly. And for those interested in why the sudden increase, we are roughly a week after the large rain event which inundated many of our natural breeding areas resulting in high densities of adult mosquitos in many areas, particular those in the north of the City - but the good news is we have a team of highly experienced mozzie fighters who are onto it!!!
