25.01.2022 As Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year we have reduced our regular menu for the month of December. Christmas this year falls on a Friday so we are taking orders now for pick up Christmas Eve Thursday 24th December so you & your family can enjoy our goodies over Christmas & Boxing Day. *All items on menu can be kept in the fridge for up to 4days ... Busy busy We apologise that we have not been advertising every week eventhough we are still making orders for those that know and need no reminders. ... Thankyou everyone for your support of our small side gig this far.... we appreciate it very much. We have made a few minor changes to our service due to time restraints that come with raising young children. We apologise in advance. 18.01.2022 I feel nostalgic for my childhood... I recall the days I used to wake up to the sound of Old Samoan/island Jams.... hear my Dad singing along to the music, the sizzling of oil, along with the smell of fresh pagikeke and koko alaisa in the air..... I'd make my way to the kitchen, pass my mother in the lounge, who is also singing along to the music whilst sewing new things for her womens group asiasiga.... ... I remember the good ol feelings, living at home with my parents & my siblings, spending school holidays with my cousins & living that carefree life, embracing our culture & each other, while eating the Samoan food my parents, aunties & uncles would make. This is what Samoan food does to me... It helps me remember the good times, reminds me to be grateful for all I have and compels me to keep old traditions alive. Growing up in Lake Macquarie/Newcastle (35yrs & counting), ready made Samoan food/island food and grocers have always been hard to find... Sydney is the go to We do have the random supper fundraisers that sell Samoan food and there were specific "elders" of the community that used to bake or make specific things back in the day... but we have never had a consistent place to purchase what we need. Some days I wish I was close enough to Bidwill Palms Pacific Supermarket so I could have Island Food everyday But for now, we try to make selective foods/desserts that we grew up on and have food (fond) memories of. 17.01.2022 Talofa Aiga (Greetings Family) We have been a little inactive on our pages of late, due to .... well, truth is, life has been throwing some curve balls & they've hit our little circle pretty hard, but by Gods grace we are still alive & (semi) healthy.... we also have NEW Guardian Angels watching over us now Thankyou to you all, our friends & family who have been so supportive, understanding & have showed us nothing but love.... through hard times, we have to lean on eacho...ther, we draw from eachothers strengths when we are feeling weak (& vice versa) Together, we take step by step, day by day...
