11.01.2022 We have just received the da Vinci results from the competition last week. With over 120 schools competing at each grade level, the competition was tough. Congratulations to the Year 7 MLC School team did really well scoring a FIRST in Creative Producers and a THIRD in English. We are still waiting on the overall results for the other teams. #mlcschool

08.01.2022 MLC School has a long tradition of providing students with enrichment opportunities. This year, in the School’s 135 years of excellence, the English Department is proudly launching the inaugural Thelma Herring Writing Competition. Named after MLC School ‘old girl’ Thelma Herring, our competition honours a woman who represents the ‘dare to be more’ spirit of our community. Thelma was Dux of the School in 1933, the first female staff member of the English Department at the Univ...ersity of Sydney, and a Publisher for 32 years. In its inaugural year, the stimulus for the Thelma Herring Writing Competition is bridges. It is a concept that connects us to both our past and our future. Open to all students in the Senior School whose talents lie with the written word, the competition invites entries in two categories: poetry and short story. Students can write about any topic provided it engages with this year’s stimulus.
