24.01.2022 Each year our Year 11 VCAL Intermediate students undertake a community project. Due to Covid restrictions they were unable to do that this year so they focused on what they could contribute to the MLMC community and came up with the idea of building a row of planter boxes for outside the new MLC and Sinnott buildings. The students had to build, assemble, paint and install the six planter boxes which connect with the others in Catherine’s Way. The planter boxes bring a great boulevard vibe to the walkway and over time they will provide shade for the students to enjoy. We send our thanks to all the VCAL students involved for the care and quality of their work it is a wonderful contribution to the College. #mlmc #beyourbestgiveyourbest

24.01.2022 Last week our Years 7, 8 and 9 students had the opportunity to gather and celebrate each other's gifts and contributions to the College through the presentation of Academic and Merit awards and College Colour awards. Staff and students gathered indoors (adhering COVID-19 restrictions) to pray, cheer and sing together for the first time since Term 1. It was wonderful to be together to share this experience and to see these young students acknowledged and celebrated for their achievements. #mlmc #beyourbestgiveyourbest

21.01.2022 This week we welcomed the newest member of the MLMC community, Ida, a 10 week old Miniature Dachshund puppy. Ida lives with Sr Mary who says she is playful, lively and loves long walks and cuddles. Her favourite food is rockmelon and her favourite toy is a small stuffed cow that she likes to chew. Ida is in training to become a therapy dog and next year she will be visiting the College two days a week with Sr Mary. To become a therapy dog Ida will be assessed when she is eig...ht months old to ensure she has a calm, unexcitable temperament and isn’t easily startled or frightened. She did a great job yesterday meeting some of the students at recess and we look forward to seeing her often in 2021. #mlmc #beyourbestgiveyourbest

20.01.2022 Hanging out in the backyard has been big part of the lockdown experience for many of us, as we've sought to take time away from our screens. As we start to look forward to coming back to school and face to face learning in the weeks ahead, we though't we'd share this wonderful photo by Seamus Coffey (Year 10 Blue) who chose his backyard as the inspiration for his entry into the 2020 MLMC Photo Competition. We wish them well with this important next step. #mlmc #beyourbestgiveyourbest

11.01.2022 The 2020 SRC (Student Representative Council) has one final project for the year the planning and production of the MLMC Student Diary for 2021. One of the most important aspects of the project is that students across all year levels have the opportunity to put forward their thoughts and ideas about what the diary should contain. To achieve this, a student survey and a student workshop (facilitated by William Geeves, Eliza Russell and Courtney Barnes) was held. This year’s... diary (pictured below) has messages of wellbeing, motivational thoughts for the week as well as timetables and other resources to help students plan and stay on top of everything. We look forward to seeing the 2021 diary at the start of next year. #mlmc #beyourbestgiveyourbest See more
