15.01.2022 Major Restoration for Sunny's B Model Mack. Check out a video of its transformation. The Truck will be on display at this weekends Clarendon Classic. There has been alot of people involved in this project and we thank you for all your help a special shout out to Mick Drew, Bruce Gunter, Dallas Fabian, Steve Brown, David Chapman, John Taylor, Ken Kirk, Joe( Leanne Barbagallo) and the man himself Sunny( Marie Warby)

13.01.2022 SUNNY WARBY's B61 Mack Restoration - Back in May 2014, a group of us arrived at MLS Truck Repairs in Riverstone to drop Sunny Warby's one owner B Model Mack off... to Matt Stephenson for a 'quick respray' back into his original colours of red on red. Sunny is the last surviving one-owner B Model owner in Australia and had purchased the truck new in 1965. This brainstorm of an idea came about when I was having a yarn with one of Sunny's many long term mates, Darrell Killick, and asked "why does Sunny still have that truck in TNT colours and not back in his original red because it looked gorgeous." The seed was planted! I rallied around to a few people and we got a bit of backing from a few guys including Mack Trucks in Sydney. From there, with a bit of secretive discussion with Matt, Marie & Sarah Warby, David Chapman and a few others, we concocted a plan to help Sunny put this historically significant truck back to how it once was. With the help of the talented Mick Drew and a few others, the strip down began at Matts workshops. The job got bigger as Sunny 'forgot' to tell us that he'd rolled it once (thanks for that Sunny - from ALL of us) but more so, as Matt got to know Sunny he realsied, like so many others, what an absolutely amazing, beautiful human being Sunny Warby is. He therefore set out to complete one of the finest restorations on a historic truck that anyone has seen to date. The 6 month expected job blew into a two and a half year project. The photos tell the story. Steve Brown (Browny) saw what was happening and after a phonecall from him questioning the intentions he was on board. See, I had the job of sourcing parts, upholstering the truck and mainly quality control. I have to say that the last bit was the easiest because the workmanship was beyond belief. Browny picked up Sunny's 1967 Freighter spread axle trailer and set about selflessly restoring it himself with some help from Sunny. I managed to get SX Trailers to donate all the parts we needed to complete that job and it came out beautifully. And historic Mack expert and long term family friend of the Warby's Dallas Fabian sourced an amazing amount of new parts from the USA and ensured that it was period correct. The greatest accolade came when I went to see the finished job by renown signwriter Nev Greentree who applied the line and scroll work as shown in the photos. Nev is the finest in his profession and he said to me "Bruce, you tell that painter that in 49 years of lining, scrolling, signwriting and painting trucks, I have never worked on a vehicle with such a flawless paint finish. It's an absolute credit to him" It doesn't get any better than that!! The truck made it's debut at Clarendon a couple of weeks ago, fitting as Sunny is in the Sydney Antique Machinery Club that hosts the Clarendon Classic Rally. It was very emotional to see the truck drive in with Sunny the star of the moment, along with a group of proud men and women who helped it come together and do what mates do. There will be more in the future with a couple of magazine features coming up but in the meantime, check out the amazing workmanship. Special thanks must go to Matt and Leanne Stephenson from MLS, Mick Drew and Steve Brown who gave up weekend after weekend, night after night and ensured that this job was completed to the highest possible standard. We all suffer from OCD it's obvious. Sunny once said to me "I simply don't know how I would ever thank all of you blokes for helping me do this". I said "Sunny, seeing you back behind the wheel with a smile on your face is worth more than a million bucks". My reponse was echoed by everyone. Congratulations Sunny.
