20.01.2022 Time is running out! Please ensure you participate in Teacher Surveys 1 and 2 to ensure your voice is captured in the National Languages Plan and Strategy project. Teachers of all languages in schools or community language centres are invited to complete these 2 brief surveys before they close at the end of 2020. Teacher Survey 1 is about the provision of languages in your school context. Teacher Survey 2 is about your language teaching experiences and qualifications. Your p...articipation in this study is completely voluntary and all information provided will remain anonymous (the names of individual school sites and participating teachers are not collected). The survey data will be used to inform the development of a national picture of the current situation of languages education across Australia, including the teaching of Community languages and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages. 20.01.2022 MLTA NSW Linguafest 2021 Entries close Wednesday 8th September 2021. Join in with many schools around NSW and have your students create a short film in the language they are studying. The theme is "a choice" and the signature item is "a piece of fruit." 18.01.2022 The public consultation period has commenced with the release of proposed revisions to the F-10 Australian Curriculum. The review has so far proposed revisions to the second language pathways for F-10 and Years 7-10 in Chinese, French, Italian and Japanese. The review of the first four languages will likely provide a framework for the revision of the other languages curricula. The other 10 Languages subjects and pathways will follow in stages and be completed by 2023. It is... important for all Languages teachers to provide feedback during this consultation period by completing the online survey. This mentor experience may also help teachers working towards Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher accreditation and who wish to build leadership capacity in their field. You will be provided with ongoing support, professional learning and resources to help you in your role.
