19.01.2022 What an emotional, wonderful, humbling and inspiring day #MMADday was yesterday! After such a challenging year, your collective messages of hope, positivity and support across the day helped to reach over a million people through the power of music and community. We are thankful for the brave and brilliant young people behind this year's campaign, and the industry partners who drove it forward for our important cause (especially Universal Music Australia & their incredible te...am and mentors). Props to those of you who actively engaged and helped us to generate more awareness and hopefully even a bit of change. Music matters. Those who create it matter. And the way music makes a difference in the lives of young people in need through our charity, matters. MMAD Day isn’t just a day. It's created over a year of dedication and hard work invested industry-wide by people and powerhouses who genuinely want to make the world a better place for the next generation, so, right now, we want to give our HUGE love to Universal Music Australia, UnLtd, Pedestrian, Verizon Media, Kaimera, Network Ten, Joe Neathway, Alice Ivy, Zeek Power, BWise, Ngaiire, Bravado & all our other campaign mentors and supporters. To our young Rising STARs who worked on this campaign: we hope this experience helps you to stay on a positive wave where you'll keep creating change in your own lives and in the lives of others. You have the potential to make a beautiful mark on this world - never forget how much we all believe in you and will be continuing to cheer for you. Congratulations on your hard work and best of luck for whatever adventure awaits you in 2021! Love everyone from MMAD x UMusic Australia UnLtd. pedestrian.tv Verizon Media Kaimera Neathway Alice Ivy B-Wise NGAIIRE See more

18.01.2022 Listen to Blak Australia a fabulous playlist from Emily Nicol featuring First Nations artists. You may recognise Emily from her show ‘Making Tracks’, the drive time show on Sydney’s Koori Radio, her work with NITV, as well as writing for a number of prominent media like The Guardian, SBS Life, Time Out. Music has the power to educate, create dialogue, and inspire change. National Reconciliation Week started today - a time of reflection, dialogue, and action. This year’s th...eme is ‘MORE THAN WORDS’. We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. Musicians Making A Difference acknowledge Australia’s Traditional Custodians of Country and recognize their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures and to Elders past present and emerging. Have a listen to the playlist and share the songs that you feel inspire positive change. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX8GpAnQzW8gR #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #ReconciliationWeek2021

08.01.2022 THE END OF THE YEAR IS HERE!!! Firstly...MASSIVE congrats to everyone for graduating in 2020! As always, some epic breakthroughs & achievements both musically and personally - we're so inspired by your dedication and hard work! To those ready to become alumni, spread their wings & fly, we are so thrilled for you that it makes us want to cry the happiest tears! We send you all or belief and endless encouragement - you will do wonderful & incredible things in this world with y...our unique gifts and talents, as musicians making your own difference. Get it, fam!!! You know where we are if ever you need us. We're wrapping things up for Christmas, and will be closed from the 18th of December, but we'll be back better than ever for programs in NSW at the end of January next year, and schools programs in QLD & VIC! If you need any support over the holidays, make sure you reach out to positive people & services that we've encouraged you to connect with. We've added some national services below for you, just in case you feel alone. Some exciting news for you all: mentors will no longer be using facebook or insta to communicate with anyone - we're moving across to a safe, positive new youth app in the New Year with heaps of awesome features that will help you have more control over choosing the level of support you want and need from us! We'll post info for how to join in Term 1 next year! If you want to join back up next year, here's a link to our 2021 Join MMAD form. Once we've got this form, we can connect you with the right opportunities or programs to help you smash your goals and grow creatively! You'll hear back from us towards the end of January. https://form.jotform.com/203156965790868 Huge love to all those who've sent messages of appreciation and love through to the team - sooo beautiful - we are grateful to know each of you and to be learning alongside you every day, too. You teach us so much in so many ways. Lastly massive MMAD props to our ENTIRE crew who have worked endlessly, either on the frontline or behind the scenes, to reach, support, inspire, uplift, and empower young people, no matter their needs. Thank you for never giving up on young people and for always seeing the best in them. Thank you for choosing to make a difference; we know it's not an easy road, but the best things in life never are. We hope each of you ends this crazy year feeling so proud of all the heart and energy you've invested and that all of the stories of change and appreciation from young people reminds you that it really has made a big difference. Have a beautiful break to refresh. What a family. MMAD Love to you ALL! MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
