10.01.2022 IF YOU’RE NOT WORKING FOOTWORK YOU AIN’T BOXING Any idiot can swing knuckles. Boxing is using the whole body to hit well and not get hit, that’s where foo...twork comes into it. A boxer that can use their footwork well can decide when and where an engagement takes place during a fight, from the ropes or corners, to in the open. Good footwork will make a boxer nigh untouchable and can make opponents frustrated, sometimes causing them to make mistakes. Good footwork creates engagements and disengages a boxer before a counter can be mounted by an opponent. All of the best boxers in professional and amateur competition use their footwork well.
